The Onyc is passively tamed by luring it into a safe area, waiting for it to calm down, and carefully feeding it while crawling in ghillie gear and using bug repellent. Once tamed, it serves as an effective defensive combat creature, especially in groups against armored targets, but is vulnerable to large creatures with powerful area attacks. When encountering wild Onycs, keep your distance, avoid provoking swarms, and use walls, strong armor, healing supplies, and disease protection to survive their attacks and Mega Rabies.

On the map Ragnarok you can find Onycs over level 420 in the old castle. But watcht out there are so many Onycs and spider at once that you'll need a good dino to encouter them
I recommend using hide armor since u can repair that one the go and they shred trough flak armor quite fast.
