Cave onyc when hit give torper (idk but I don’t think all cave onycs gives torpor) epic defense (maybe even a giga is ez kill)very small and annoying to hit and medium hp up if you find this helping you

Use a good longneck to one shot them pretty reliably at range, and then use a good sword at close range

Direwolf is literally the BEST tame for killing these stupid bats.

Build a wooden base with window walls and reinforced windows. Attack the Onyc with a bow of sorts and let them come to the window while it’s open. They can’t fly threw the window and you can kill them with a pike. Obviously this dosent work if you encounter a few but if there are a lot this works great!

If you see one run as fast as you can if the mega rabies are strong enough they can literally kill you in seconds.

Changelog for the kibble rework update says they should take Simple, but all five (white through yellow) kibbles still start it off at 44.4% effectiveness.

You guys why are u like GET A PIKE CHEEASE THINGS just get a megalosaurus and legit on the Meg feed the onyc meat AND THEY ARE PASSIVE TAMES NOT KO TAMES.

If you are looking for high lvls go to the castle on rag, I have seen lvl 400+ scorpions spiders and bats there

My max lvl is 150

Should be rideable, would be cool to ride this thing

The one's I summon in are passive taming

The bug repellent says that you will be ignored by bugs, bats, and spiders so use this to get past them but don’t get to close or the bug repellent won’t work

Does anyone else have a problem with tranqing them?i was in the north cave and tried to knock some out but they didn’t show no torper. I’m new to taming these guys(medium level guy)so if I can get some feedback that’ll mean a lot since I’m on a mission to tame a megalosaurus.

If u want a high lvl one that passes lvl 300 let say 400 or so just go to the artifact of strong cave...there u will also meet ur demise... atleast i got to tamed lvl 540 dire wolf which became lvl 800...well my sabertooth is way better than these guys unless they r in pack

Unfortunately you she to tame these to get the Dino tamer achievement. After taking one, I just say suck it up and miss the achievement.

They are not really usefull in solo but maybe they are pvp

Some onyc and arneo are found in the castle in ragnorock place a stone foundation then clear them out for a cool base

Let one of these follow you around when exploring,I got one and it’s cool but terrifying ,I was walking through the forest with my newly tamed onyc

(Only level 8 btw) and two level 10 carnos charged me ,and they got SHREDDED.seriously,amazing tame even in single player
