When knocking out, DO NOT TRANQ HIM OUTRIGHT, THEY ARE FAST AND HIT LIKE A TRUCK. Make a trap (4x4 stone with doorway walls),
Stand on the staircase(stairs can be thatch, wood, or anything) and shoot him to get his attention. Make sure you have the stairs facing his direction or you will be slapped off the stairs and b he will kill you.
As soon as you shoot him, walk into the trap then go thought the doorways. He will proceed to slap the floor because he is an idiot.
Pump tranqs into his forehead(took me about 28 tranq arrows) then put any kind of food into his inventory as he is an omnivore.
Just wait until he’s tamed then boom, mega bug eater monkey that can kick some major donkey.

More Megatherium Taming & KO Tips
If it has the red aura on it, don’t try to knock it out. Just wasted 50 tranqs when it had the aura, only took 12 without
Darn sloth can't run fast but good for collecting foods and INCREDIBLE for chitin and has a pretty good weight...
I put some billboards around my sloth then tranqed him and it worked out for me and him

In Mobile version, megatherium can be resurrect on the obelisk after killing it in the dungeon (plase in mobile, where you can have battle with bosses). It doesn't live in normal world. Just caught two of these beastly animals today with my son. The best way to capture one is three metal signs in the form of a triangle with a bear trap in the middle of it. Lay the first two metal sign down in a 90 degree angle and put the bear (large one) trap in the middle. Get the megatherium to follow you into the bear trap, and put the third sign on the outside of the animal. Tranq it up and vola you have a Megatherium.

When attempting to knock out. Take into account the current 'state' they are in. Normal or Enraged.
Torpor acts normally during knock out if they are in their 'normal state' allowing for an easier knock out.
When they're in their 'Bug Rage' state, torpor drops insanely fast during attempts to knock them out. Resulting in darts being less effective, and the need for Tranquilizer Arrows Torpor over Time to help counter.
The reason for this, is due to the Bug Rage being a natural counter to the poisons of the various torpor inducing attacks of the Arks "Australian sized" insects.
For mobile players you can kill it in the dungeons I forgot which one but you will find out. Then grab it’s respawn artifact thing then get a respawn pad respawn it and build stone walls around so it does not get out and escape then tranq it out the easy way is to feed berries hard way is honey. Blow this up so peeps can see it
In mobile, these only spawn in dungeons. Some dungeons. Also to tame you will need a revival platform and a good amount of ancient amber.
