South Haven is a great spot to look for these to tame, especially in the bay in the middle of the island, all you have to do to tame one there is kill all the fish in there besides the megalodon you want (I suggest using a baronyx to kill the other fish with its stun ability) and then tranquilizer the one you want with a crossbow.

To tame make sure you bring guards with you, when there's one, there is usually others

They have a pack bonus that stacks up to 8. Combine that with mate boosting and bleed and you can take out alpha mosasaurs with ease.

Harpoon gun and tranq spear bolts knocks it out good 👌

You can fit these in a underwater taming raft if you use a large hatch frame

How to step by step

- Get a lot. LOT. of tranq arrows.

- After getting around 200-150 arrows get a crossbow

- You can use tranq spears in harpoons too!

- Get on a icthy (throwaway icthy)

- Find a lone shark with no mantas, other sharks, etc

- Get as far away as possible while being Able to hit

- Watchyour distance from shark and wait 5 seconds between shots.

-Tranq it

- Put around 100-150 fish meat in it

- Tame

And boom! That’s how I did it! Ofc please don’t forget to breathe when you need to. And these fellows need behemoth doors if your going to put it in a pen!

Use a ichthyosaurus and it will chase you but you can outrun it and lure it to the shallow and shoot it with tranq arrows and it shouldn’t move when it’s at the shallow then I recommend using raw meat to tame. This is how I tamed my meg!

They are a good fighting early/mid-game mount

They have a decent amount of health and have a small turning circle, meaning that it is quite easy to kill mosas / alpha mosas

If you let a tuso grab you and if you dismount your meg you can easily kill the tuso with a good sword

They are great for farming angler gel but I would recommend using an ichty if you are on mobile because they won’t defend themselves

For anything that is not fighting, I think the ichty is still better: it can outrun any predators if you accidentally attack them. But if you live on herb island for example you might have noticed that there are some quite big fishy bois down there so you might want to use a meg to clear the area out

Does anyone know why they do t Agro on me? Are they supposed to do that or are s it a glitch?

Step 1 : Get a Baryonyx or a Ichty

Step 2 : Get a good crossbow (Any will work)

Step 3 : Have tranq arrows

Step 4 : Find a megalodon of Your choise

Step 5 : Knock it out

Step 6 : Tame it with prime meat or Fish meat!

On the island map to tame, go to herbivore island ( bottom right of map) and wait as they show up in the lake bit. As u shoot then they will go one side to the other, so take a bird and switch sides each time and you will have a megalodon

I used this once and it immediately died from four other megs

Best thing to do is have a crossbow with narco arrows to get it to come to you kill a fish near you then hit the shark in the head with the crossbow

Get a raft and shoot it to be passed out.

Kill these i once got a fully repaired metal pike from killing one

these guys are relatively easy to tame just grab a ichy and crossbow

Just tame it just shoot it with tranqs

Honestly this is a very wimpy animal in ark. I killed it in one shot with a regular shotgun. Definetly one of the easier to kill and tame animals

An easy way to kill one is to use a turtle to take agree and then stab it with spears. Or you can shoot it with almost any weapon. Or you can whack it with a weapon if you have armor. It is on the easier side of animals on ark.
