Make sure you tame a male if you’re taming to gather thatch.

These are prob one of the best creatures for harvesting thatch. Not only are they adorable, but they are fast, and strong id say their better than raptors. I'd recommend only getting males to though, The females are slightly faster, but can't attack or collect anything. Not also mentioning how easy they are to tame! I named mine Echo.

A good way to tame these is to pick them up with a Argy and drop them into your base

If you’re in a hunt of Megaloceros and you wanted to tame it, always bring a bow and tranq arrows since it is the most effective and cheap way to knockdown a big daddy reindeer like that. Another tip is hit the head of the Megaloceros so that the torpor effect will trigger quicker than the average and it will knock him down quickly so he doesn’t have time to run away from you.

If you want tame any dino super fast without soothing balm then trap a dino and live them in trap for whole night and go for sleep, next morning knock them out and then tame.

Deers are easy to tame because all you need is to find a good level deer and bola it and punch it out or tranq it or club it. And feed it meoberries. Also narcotics or narcoberries to help to stop it from waking up.

Probably one of the fastest mounts in the game. Run and spam space if you don’t believe me.

Just knock it out and tame it but dont let the animals get u first of freeze also get narcoberries

Don’t tame females unless you want to breed them male are mega powerful

Excellent tame for low lvl survivors. Very abundant in the red wood forest along the shore line. Thatch mine making it useful in building a base on PvE only. Thatch bases on PvP.... not so great.

The male megaloceros are good at collecting thatch.

It’s a great tame to do the south cave. It does very well when fighting the bugs. Just be a bit careful when fighting arthros. They do more damage to it. Otherwise they make the cave seem easy

As long as u give him peace offerings in his natural habitat the Redwood or the snow, u should be ok...I think

For all you on mobile. This is your best friend. The females will shove predators off of you to protect you (dispite them having no way to defend themselves), not only that but they double as the fastest animal on the ARK. They also litterally fly over land.

When breeding females have a pregnant belly that gets larger as the closer the baby is coming. It’s kinda funny at the last minute cuz I swear their belly is as big as them lol

I play on mobile and wanted to ask if there is any special attack that gathers more thatch? It only gets around 40 per tree where even my doedic gets like 60 and my pick axe gets like 80

When you compare this to a real life moose you will be disappointed unless you up melee stat
