Hi I’m the tame helper and help all of you guys tame a mantis 1 you’ll need rhino horns or deathworm horns 2 I recommend a mantis deaggro trap which is one stone foundation lurk it in with 6 walls beside and in front of it and 2 doorways

The alternate attack does harvest way more than the regular attack. Doing it on element veins you will gather much more element and shards than dust. Vice versa with regular attack.

On Ragnarok, lure them into deep water. They only stay on the surface, so once you dive underwater, they'll lose aggro and you can feed from underneath. No ghille suit or bug repellant required!

I used an argy trap to get mine, couldnt get out and it was super easy to tame without it trying to attack innocent bystanders or run off

These guys are CRAZY for knocking stuff out, just get an ascendant club, put it in it's hand and level all points into melee. Just knocked a 140 Rex in like 5 hits

Don’t try to get them stuck under your wyvern and get off to solo tame them.. they will despawn mid tame.

Best way to farm an element vein. Get an Ascendant Pickaxe and swing away. Do the outer ones first. Level only melee. Weight doesnt matter because in the end you want more element and can just carry it on your flyer.

I would not suggest giving these things primitive items. Give them better stuff instead because they blow through durability when mining rocks. And also, if they break their tool, don’t share your own. They’ll break that too. 😂

If you don’t want to make bug repellent if taming on the server is very high just get a flyer on passive and drop on the mantis while spamming the passive tame button (works best with wyverns) and it should tame if you do it right and for baby mantis they eat spoiled meat until there adults so if your breeding them have some spare spoiled meat to feed them. For the harvesting the more lvls you put into melee will make you gather more materials if your using a sickle, pickaxes, or axe and for clubs it increases the melee and torpor damage so mantis are good for knocking out creatures if you have the right stats, if you didn’t know you can give your mantis a pike apparently. (To person below me) The reason it doesn't harvest anything is because you need to give it the correlating tool for the job, for example, to harvest minerals, give it a pickaxe, for wood an axe, you can give it a sword too but it's unarmed attack is better.

You need to get one

1 get bug repellent, kill deathworms, get chillies armour and maybe a canteen or two

2 eat the bug repellent and put the deathworm horns in your last slot, find a high level and sneak up from behind. once you feed it run away and repeat

3 make sure to give him a sword or a tool for whatever you might harvest

WARNING: make sure that if you do this with a tame that you feed it bug repellent too otherwise the mantis will aggro and you can’t tame it. you can only tame a mantis when your over level 40 and the saddle unlocks at lvl 50

Trap it in a 1 by 2 trap, one wall high. It's legs or butt will stick out somewhere, go to it and get the angle where you can feed it the horns! No Ghille required

HELPFUL TIP! Make sure you have more horns than needed as Dododex was wrong on the amount, ruined my 150 tame

Instead of feeding it when you have the bug repellent, Gilly suit and cactus soup all in your bloodstream… why not take a couple of billboards and trap the mantis..

I was able to do it using just two billboards.. the mantis body is very long.. so I use one billboard to block it from moving forward and the other one was put down right on top of its middle section…. It was trapped….

I left the area and it glitched out of the trap…

I was able to do it again though. So billboards are really convenient for the mantis provided that you have the Gilly suit and the bug repellent and the cactus soup in play.
