If you have the means ( Dragon or Quetz ) pluck it then drop into a wooden funnel. It may take some time to fall down but you want the base 1x1. However the person who plucked it can't tame it ( aggroed ). All you need then is ghillie suit and you can feed it through the wall.
On the new map astraeous I thought you could take one of these I spent a whole day farming 54 wholly rhino horns cause dododex said I needed 54 horns for a 260 mantis (I look and it gave me the option to feed but it wouldn't feed)
It won’t let me shove it down it’s ass
They will ATTACK a level 2 almost killed my level 17 raptor almost died
Just need one or two deathworm horns under lvl 80,not 8.
Good work killer easy and simple tame with mutton .Get a megathreium.I got one and it killed so many worms
You can put a sword in its hand and it duplicates your sword to both hands and attacks with it
One day I was wandering in the desert when I saw one of these things for the first time. I thought they would be easy to kill. I took my fabricated pistol and shot slowly at the mantis, thinking I was invincible. (I was such a noob at that time) then suddenly out of nowhere it pounced on my face ripping me to shreds. Up if this was helpful. 👍
Been testing it for a while when i realised what passive taming is about....basically the moment you give a dino his 1st feeding interval that's when his food lvl will start dropping even though its a wild dinosaur...which is the reason for the delay from 1st to 2nd interval being so high...because you have to wait for the food level to drop low enough...once you feed it its first deathworm horn you can do other things for a while, just as if you were starvefeeding it, then you come and feed it every 10 seconds and make it a fast tame...
These things are WAY better than the chicken (therozino). They get more fiber, but a bit slower since it can attack 1 at a time, they can hold tools and weapons except for tek stuff and firearms. It can get more thatch or Moore wood. Can hold a club to knockout things. But are much harder to tame, u need SE, or Ragnarok for deathworms. Use bug repel. to get close, approach from behind (it is in utility, I wanted to Putin taming also, but u can put only one). I hope this encourages many people to tame this, although extremely difficult, on rag, look in deathsands, for deathworms and mans, and the lava place above the ice for mans. On SE, \_(*-*)_/.
You can’t make cactus broth my brother was in creative and went to crafting and found it wasn’t there
Get a wyvern with 9k hp and 400% melee, a Rex with 7.5k hp and 400% melee, or a rock elemental and you can kill deathworms to get horns.
Press triangle only one time or it will atack u
Press triangle only one time or it will atack u
Get a pic from killing Alfa wyverns
To tame this creature you should first make sure you have a few extra horns(obtained by killing a death worm) just in case something went wrong. To tame it you will need to either tame it in the desert which is very dangerous, or have yourself or someone else pick it up with a wyvern. You could also lead it to your base spot, which would take a while depending on location and if it Argos onto you the whole time. To tame have the horns in your hot bar, and have bug repellant on(WATCH THE TIMER), the you will want to crouch, and go from behind to feed it therefore it will be safer. If it targets you, lose the aggro, and then go back and repeat the process carefully. It will also be more easy if you can trap it so it doesn't wonder off, and you lose your progress on the tame. Good luck and be safe!!
You can't tame in caves
If you are to tame a mantis I would recommend you try to tame it where it is far away from anything that it can Agro on or else you will have to start over. Don't tame these guys in big numbers I'd reccomend, at most, two at a time so you don't get distracted or lose sight. I also reccomend that you don't try taming one of these guys until you are absolutely ready with repellent and horns. Beware the horns are heavy. Good luck!
