Just found this out, a tamed mantis with a paint brush equipped can damage TEK! not as good as a arthro but still is able destroy any structure with it

If you equip an ascendant club (or any club really) you can use the mantis as an effective taming mount I knock out rexes and carnos with it

Don't listen to the guy that said unarmed attacks from the mantis is better. A sword can easily increase it's attack to the 3-4 digits

If you are taming these for their Eggs, make sure to place them in an area that's "Unknown" (changed to "Wilderness" in recent patch). It'll quadruple your Egg harvest. Just leave render range for 5-10 minuted, come back and collect your eggs. They can also be egg-boosted by a Oviraptor now so make sure one is in range.

On fjordur there are free deathworm corpses on the volcano island around the tarpits. I got 8 from the 6 bodies laying around. No need to hunt those monstrous worms for one horn.

As much as I hate to admit seeing as how ankys are my favorite tame, this thing equipped with acended pick gets crystal better than the anky. at least anky still number one in metal.

I found 6 deathworm horns in a puprle supply drop on Crystal Isles, so if you really want to tame mantis on Crystal Isles look for purple supply drops.
