Since they nerfed their speed they aren’t worth taming. A dolphin will be faster, the manta does a little more damage but it’s still horrible in combat.

You can put these guys in fish baskets!!! They are obviously bigger than the basket but it works

They are very fast in water. They can outrun Megaladons and other things.

They aren’t super useful on most maps but they are very useful on the Valguero map because Valguero’s lakes are VERY dangerous.

Masstame 150's til you got 50 of them, use them together with a swarm of 25 eels backed up by mateboosted basils, mosas and tusos.

Absolutely insane, ofc have them covered by some tek and heavies set on players only.

Have them all following a passive tame on low distance (could be an angler), and have them set on attack-my-target, and aggro range high.

Have a trapped tame as scout on aggressive and aggro range high, when it aggro towards any dinos or players, it will send the whole force to kill and stun the target, when target is out of range or dead, they will come back to base.

Their movementspeed increase was heavily nerfed with th3latest patch.

While a pain in the ass to tame, it’s worth it, as a pack of 6-7 of these can take out even a Lvl 50 plesiosaur in under a minute

Ride it too close to shore, it will die!!!!!!!

Don’t dismount it when it is mid air, it will instantly die...

Search for one that is on land or close to land almost free kills

Once tamed basically fancy looking combat icthys but can't let you hold weapons on them but they can leap out of water and they work a kind of as a "fear tame" you need to go deep down and risk the dangers to get the gel mantas want to tame so that means if you have loads of mantas enemy players might think twice about attacking you fearing you might have powerful weapons either from simply being high enough level to get the gel or from deep sea loot crates

In ASA these killer pancakes are great for making orphans for you to adopt.

I was playing in the center and this 135 Theri had a child with it, the Theri was way too close to my base so I lead it to a nearby cliff to drop it into the water. So now it was in the water and I was about to go adopt the youngling but I wanted to look at my work, I peered down only to see the tickle chicken getting ganged on by some Mantas. I got the kill by shooting it with my cross bow.

So TLDR; lead the parent creature to the water with a pack of waiting Mantas then imprint of the newly orphaned csreature

Oh, and when they say it's a waste to boost its movement speed, they're wrong, definitely pump movement speed into it, it'll be worth it. (This is relevant to the 'sonic the hedgehog' joke btw).

Why the f_ck r they aggressive?!

Quick and easy, take a crossbow and some Grappling Hooks. Shot the hook at the Manta and it wont move.

Although these might seem fairly useless, I’v actually found a very good use for them.

Recently I struggled with claiming the artifact of the cunning (or whatever the east water cave one is called). I first tried taking the cave head on, using a basilo (50k health and around 1k melee) and a few crappy backup sharks. I assumed the sharks would die, but that the basilo could pull through. Even before I was into the main cavern of the cave, I was assaulted by at least 20 insanely high level megalodons. With their pack buff and bleed attack, needless to say, my backup megs were dead. I decided that the cave couldn’t get much worse than that, and with my severely injured tamari ventured into the main cavern. I was greeted with twice the number of megs, 4 plesiosaurs, 2 mosasaurs, a barrage of eels, 1 tuso, and a collection of other horrible deep-sea predators. Realizing I was done, I tried to turn to escape, but it was too late. I got absolutely booty clapped.

So, it was back to the drawing board. I briefly thought about breeding a good sea creature army, but I was daunted by the prospect of that much time consuming breeding, and I was already in the process of breeding good boss rexes. So another idea came to me: what if I didn’t fight anything? What if I was just fast enough to avoid all danger? And so I tamed a few mantas (low levels, 30-60ish) and bred them. I imprinted the baby, grew it up, cryod it, and got to the cave. I was very worried that the manta would die, based on the fact that it had somewhere around 800 health. I crossed my fingers and hoped it was fast enough.

I expected it to be fast, but this thing blew through the cave and back out in no time, too fast to aggro most things and the things it did were left in the dust. I realize this would probably work with a dino of similar speed like an ichthy or maybe even a diplocaulus but for me, the manta is now the only way I get that artifact.
