Warning these things are normally pretty hungry after you tame it and will starve if you put angler gel in their inventory as they eat normal fish meat afterwards

Ive found they are much easier to tame when they busy following a basilo around XD

How to tame

1 tame a dilocauls

2 fine and kill a angler fish

3 then get 1-2 bug repellent

4 then tame

No scuba needed

Surprisingly in mobile ark, if you attack achatinas with raptors, as I have learned from my own experience, you can get angler gel. I have never gone past the shallows in the ocean, yet I have multiple stacks of angler jell. Hope y’all can find this helpful. Don’t know if it works on other versions of ark though.

I’ve found the best way to deal with these guys is using a Pelegornis in shallow water. You’re able to hop off the water, fly, and still follow the manta around. It’s easy to hop back on the bird if you land in the water so it makes it easy for a quick feed and then retreat.

Oddly, if you apply bug repellant to yourself and your mount, mantas won't aggro on either of you as easily.

Shhh be quiet. They’ll call there mates over half way through the tame

When you get off it, it will spring forward a few yards. So do not discount near land

Use bug repellent so it does not agro or you can trap it with pillars or on the shore

Taking it is actually pretty easy,just ride on your pelagornis and slowly start feeding it angler gell(which can be found in snails on mobile)make sure it’s near shore and away from predators!(like other mantas)its a passive tame so make sure not to get killed in the process

Mantas eat angler gel but when tamed they eat meats like other carnivorous

You have 2 ways (by what i know) to tame it. The first and easiest way is to tame an ichty, because it doesn't get agro, then grab some angler gel and tame the manta.

The other way is to use a bug repellent and feed it the gels.

After tamed, you can feed it meat.

Place a stone foundation then 4 stone door frames and a hatch frame on top get it to agro onto you and use the structure as a sort of shark cage if it goes away just reapt it getting agro on you

Kill all the other mantas before taming cause they will kill your new recruit….

Trust me I found out the hard way….

How I tamed a manta was that I got 5 angler gel from daily gift and got soothing balm took my itchy and found a level 3 manta fed it put soothing balm on it and still have 3 left over wach out the other manta's can kill your manta if your not careful up for others to see 🙂

Passive tame? Nah this dude is a killer pancake,

Get a basilosaurus and get the manta you want to tame, agro it to the balsilo and you will be able to tame the manta since its attacking the basilo instead of you. (The basilos food will drain quickly so get it some food)

Can no longer grab with Kapro :'(

Ok so basicly use a sarco or icthy to lure it to shore then feed it angler gel grill it’s tamed

It takes a loong to eat the second time, be patient
