Encountering Tips

How do I kill a manta? manta battling strategies in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
So I once found one of these little sh*ts and thought it was passive like real mantas.
Do not go up to it
It will sting u and everyone in the water!
It is a killer pancake!
I repeat a killer pancake!
If you are planning on doing anything involving water prepare to despise these flat horrors. They can out swim you. They can swarm you. They can act friendly and once you turn your back eat your tame. Beware.
Non violent?! Bruh this dude is suuuupper violent .
Kill them All. Revenge for Steve. Never forget Never forgive.
They are aggressive in real life too. RIP Steve Irwin.
If caught in open water by a manta fight don't flee. If you have a spear or pike swim up as it gets close. This keeps you above it attack area and puts you in striking range. The manta is slower moving up and down in the water.
They say passive tame because YOU are the one that’s supposed to be passive, same way it says “non-violent” it’s talkin bout you NOT the actual tame, sheesh
This guy killed my lystro and dodo, i am crippled and sad
The manta is quite dangerous, as it's attacks can punch straight through armour, even flak. They are very fast and unless you have lots of oxygen and speed, you will not escape. Just poke your head underwater and look left and right before crossing the sea. It's like a road, but worse, because roads don't have angry stingrays, very large sharks and/or killer piranha
I play on mobile and they agro on you even if your riding an Ichy
A waffle of maddness
Note to self: Do not pet the death pancake.
Carefull around these guys. They're like the raptors of the water, lost my newly tamed basilosaurus to these heartless animals... Rest well, Bessie, I loved listening to your singing T_T
How to battle a manta:
The best way to fight it is:
Get a bary and use the stun attack. And then kill it while it watches
They give us the saddle at low level, but we need to go deep underwater to get angler gel without scuba stuff? How are we supposed to tame the devil's goldfish when we get the saddle??
This swimming pancake doesn't like people who want to tame ichty's. Just wanted to warn ya.
exploring the coast with an Ichthyosaurus and a lv 47 basilosaurus.
ganged up on by 5+ mantas.
the basilosaurus got stuck and died in seconds.
the ichthyosaurus died too.
my ascendant chitin armor set broke with just a few hits, and I died.
this thing is truly a nightmare.
Can't believe my luck, I was flying over Highlands Bay, on Ragnorrock, looking for Mantas to tame. When I saw a Basilasaurus in the Bay. Several Mantas were swimming along with it. I pulled out my spyglass and and found a male and female, 140 & 145, were swimming in the group. So I chomped some bug spray, put my tank on and jumped in. suprisingly, there were not only the male and female I had previously spotted. But, three additional females all above 135, and to add the icing on the cake, the Basilasaurus was also a 135. Some days you can't take two steps without being devoured by a Rex, respawn, only to be devoured by the very same Rex. And then you get days like this, where they fall into your lap. So my tip is to stay vigilante and keep your eyes peeled for those happy surprises. Oh! and don't sweat the large dino that eats you four consecutive times. Happy Arking!!!😁
Careful... they may look delicious in all but powerful...pancakes or waffles... Iost my megaladon to a pack of 8 of these which took 4 1/2 hours to tame...
It’s attacks are able to quickly shred through your armour, I have a theory that the manta may share coding with the Arthropleurea since they both can destroy armour and they both react to bug repellent similarly
