When this things swarm they can be VERY annoying, and even kill you specially when you are trying to cross rivers

If you don't trap it it's virtually impossible to tame

Almost anything but a Baryonyx is prone to die if left alone with a swarm of Mantas, including Plesiosaurs, Basilosaurs and Tusoteuthis. In the wild, those creatures are the third fastest you can encounter and will ignore armor when attacking. Absolutely letal if combined with Cnidaria.

They are notably common on The Center, to the point where you can clear a shore and only let the one you want to tame but still get up to three following you to your trap once you decide to lure it.

Don’t dismount it when it is mid air, it will instantly die...

I always kill this death pancake by using my Spino,but don’t think they r alone,they also bring Meg to support them,so be very careful if u have planning tame these

Take a megalodon @ night and look for anglerfish kill it during the day (easier kill). Take the anglergel and build a trap on shallow water. Lure it in while wearing SCUBA suit

They swarmed up my newly tamed spino when i was crossing to herby island :'/

I just lost my sarco to these things... he had in a master craft saddle which I also lost. They just hugged me so that I couldn’t move and eat him alive. Luckily I did manage to get my kit back but still...

Best tip on encountering one is don’t, or try to avoid aggro at all costs, especially unmounted. They can overwhelm you relatively close to shore by stinging you which does significant damage, and if there’s more than one, if could be quite fatal.

Search for one that is on land or close to land almost free kills

You meet this in the water with no mount be prepared to die.

This killer was the reason my first sarco died!!! Ride another water dweller, NOT a land animal when seen!!!

Ok so I just tamed a lvl30 meg that was at passive (I was on easy, don’t judge me I just started the game)I was so happy when it tamed but then while I was going home 3 mantas attacked me I was like ok my Sarco can take 3 mantas (i was riding a Sarco) then 500000 more came and killed my meg but I survived. T-T

It is a stupid creature it made my lose my beloved tame sea king I hope this thing get removed evil evil if you se one kill it before it gang up and kills you

This thing is the exact opposite of passive if you're just swimming and you swim over their "god" aka the bailo they will get mad and attack you this is actually how my X spino died
