What are tips for mammoth? Tips and strategies for mammoth in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Good for wood and weight
When knocked out, make sure you don’t let anything
attack it. That happened to me an took four hours to tame.
Im so stupid i can't believe stimberry hurt the fking mammoth just lost 2 levels by doing it.
One of the BEST tames for farming wood on mobile.
take with you a Pteranodon, your best clothing, some health brew (you can get the recipe by killing raptors or other predators easily) so you don’t die in the cold, tranc darts, narcotics, and root carrots you can easily farm in a medium sized plot.
Fly to the snow biome
Find a group of three, which is easy.
But make sure they kill any wolves or whatever would hurt you in the taming process so you don’t have to deal with it yourself
After everything is clear, kill the two mammoths you don’t need.
Then fly on a ledge and you’re all set.
To boost your taming rate, go caving wit a raptor/whatever and get smoothing balm for 10x rate
You might die the first time around by those guys who junk out of the dirt (I did lol)
To the person that said we got Manny and Diego now just need sid we have him he is the megatherium aka. The sloth XD
Easiest tame method:
1. Shoot a tranw arrow to aggro it
2. Place a dino gateframe between you and the mammoth
3. Once it’s down place spikes around
You just tamed a mammoth
One of the best tames u could actually get, their saddle isn’t hard to get in terms of level nor ressources, they gather decent amounts of thatch and huge amounts of wood, they are really big and have a decent speed, faster than the trike tho,the stamina is better and it is well balanced in its stats
Use the same trap as a allo then you could just knock it out
Build to 8 pillars high. Then place a ceiling and extend 1 or 2 catwalks in the direction of your choosing. Then you can just do a little tomfoolery and start shooting it from there, though be sure to clear out the area first. Works with both taming and killing them.

14 kibble only half tamed on official for a 150
I tamed a level 40 mammoth, no cheats/tame boost on settings. It ate 100 mejoberry (it said 250 on here) but I needed 102 because spoil times a bummer. It also took 7 narcotics not 76 like it said here. Unfortunately didn't pay attention to how many tranq arrows it took. Hope this helps :)
These guys are one of my favorite creatures! They collect metric tons of wood and are pretty tuff, but with that their stamina is very low so make sure to keep stim- berries on your mammoth at all times or you might find yourself between 5 carnos and a hard place. These bad boys are a must have in solo, PvP, and PvE for that matter. Hope this helps.
Lure it to your base, they’re very slow so it won’t catch you. Knock it out on your doorstep
Best way to tame solo is using a tame boat, allows you to easily knock out, then transport to somewhere safe, and more importantly warmer
This is way more versatile than the beaver and far easier to tame as well.
I've killed an alpha rex with mine, has a weight reduction on wood so it can gather an obscene amount in one trip, it has a really large AOE on its stomp which makes it amazing for collecting berries as well and it's the best early tame to clear out the Arctic as it's stomp cuts down wolf packs and annoying argies with ease.
Late game use it for its weight reduction alongside a beaver for collection if wood is a need to get both insane wood collection speed and large carrying capacity of wood
On mobile it can also wear hats so it can get insane armour from a good flak helmet making it unstoppable. Borderline as good as a rex once you spec into melee
