Tips & Strategies
A mammoth can FLY. Quetzal + Mammoth can gather thousands of wood in minutes. Attack while a tribe/alliance mate flys you though an area with trees
More Mammoth Utility Tips
As of early 2017, the mammoth now can carry wood at 12.5 weight per stack, which is now better than a beaver.
If youβre dumb like me and didnβt know: on Xbox, use the right trigger to harvest thatch, and the A button to harvest wood π I was upset for a whole day thinking it was purely a thatch harvester till I pressed A π«
To get wood with new mammoth use whatever your jump button is
The Mammoth is a good collecter, and I will show you a guide to the Mammoth. #1. The Mammoth is found in the snow, and can be tamed pretty easily. All you have to do is tranq it! They will sometimes come in groups though, so kill the ones you donβt want. #2. When the mammoth is tamed, its saddle has a drum on it, which I think gives buffs when you play it. The mammoth has multiple abilities: A standard Melee Attack, one where you can grab Dinoβs and people, and yeet them, and that roar that I have yet to figure out what it does. They are surprisingly really fast swimmers, and can spray when covered in water. #3. They are really good harvesters of berries, wood, and thatch. To get berries, use the regular attack button on bushes. To get Thatch, use the same attack button on trees. To get wood, click the jump button on a tree, and you will get wood! I hope you liked this guide to the Mammoth! Signed, Pickle844luvr
Well done, you found it, the most underrated creature of the ark, you ever been short on fiber, berries, seeds, wood or thatch? Look no further then the mammoth, an absolute tank with great mobility and utility, weather itβs raging your war against the Arctic, exploring, gathering resources, or even running a farm, the mammoth has got you, it can fill water reserves and hydrate plants and people with its water spray, it has high damage, speed, weight and hp, itβs stamina is mid tho, they are actually really good swimmers but I wouldnβt take them into the water.
While my tribe finds it annoying, I bring a mammoth everywhere we go, it holds us up due to the mammoth difficulties getting up mountains, but I can throw people up the mountain with the trunk to explore ahead while I find a way to get up, their has never once been a time we regretted bringing the mammoth
They are easy to knock out, but keeping them alive is difficult, bring some other tames to help you protect your sleepy mammoth

One of the most underrated tames for battle up there with the yuti and piggy in usefullness. It is respected for it's harvesting abilities. Gathers wood and thatch like no other, a pair of mammoths harvesting the entire forest is almost required for high end theri saddles and the large amount of wood they need. They can compare to rexs damage wise, tusks do less damage but attack faster than a rex's bite better for long fights, their stomp does more damage than the bite but attacks slower and is better for smaller stuff. They also have a roar debuff which works on bosses decreasing their damage by 25% (great with yuti roar and pig healing) and can pick up smaller tames and players and gore, stomp or throw them. They can also eat veggie cakes to heal. They have niche uses vs the Dragon (or anyone using fire) as they can spray water which puts out fires, and are vegetarians so don't take the extra damage from the dragons flame attack. The spray will also stun flyers and water crops or you if needed. Their turning radius is great for their size. A buddy can ride on the mammoths 2nd seat and beat a drum which gives you better stam Regen. Haven't found much of use for it other than harvesting so you don't have to stop and recharge as much but you'd be better of having the other player just harvest on their own. Finally, they are easy to find and tame don't even need a trap a lot of the time.
Why my mammoth can wear scuba goggles π₯½???
He looks sooo cute though π
