Tips & Strategies
Easiest way to steal an egg is teleport East volcanic, locate the mission The Egg-Straction and enter the cave. Note parachutes can be used but wing suit is better. Once you are in the cave use parachutes or a wing suit to fly into one of the little ravines and land by an egg that there are no nearby magmasaurs. Then start a teleport and as you are about to teleport pick up the egg.
so first thing u want to do is go to fjordur and get roughly 50 blood packs as you will most likely get picked up by multiple desmodi as you will need to tame one one you get a high lvl one with high stamina you will then need to craft a whip once u get into the cave and do this on lost island you then need to wait till night then go invisible once invisible fly to an egg with not many magmasaurs nearby once u get to it equip ur whip and take it and instantly get out of there as they will all be aggrod when your getting out make sure to fly higher up for more time to evade searing spit and bam you got out with shitty lvl 20 magmasaur eggs and you wasted your time.
It eats/wants Ambergris for imprints!!!!
I just went in grab the egg go out as quickly as possible.
If you are looking for way to get a magmasaur egg easily on the Lost Island upgrade your movement speed and health grab a egg and run fast hope this helps
I found out the adults are easy to tranq. While they sleep the eggs are easy to get
Anybody else find it weird how the babies eat ambergris?
I mean, it isn't even found in the volcano biome, how would they get it in the wild?!
When spitting on metal spikes it damages it self with its own attack
If you get too close to a wild one that used it's special ability (a charge that will set it on fire and aggravate nearby dinos) it'll display a message saying "getting hot! Stay away!!!!" and that will set you on fire. Don't approach unless you know you're prepared.
To tame these little guys, you need to steal a egg from them, the best place to get the egg is in Fjordur.
The easiest way is to use Desmodus with stamina build, you can be invisible with it (that means that others dino can’t attack you while you’re invisible). Land next to a egg and grab it asap, you just need to return to your Desmodus and fly away.
CAUTION!!!!! You can encounter Wyverns, so try doing this in the night (Desmodus ability its better during the night)
If you can transfer your Rock Drake to Genesis it is pretty easy to steal Magmasaur eggs with them. Just turn invisible look for the best egg to steal. Quickly dismount grab the egg get back on and haul your butt out of there.
It’s just a normal lizard that wants to be loved
Passive tame this reptile with hot magma and make sure that your crouching because if it sees you it will run for the hills. It just wants to be loved, LOVED!!!
Or steal it’s children your choice
In Ark Survival Evolved on the the Lost Island map you feed the Magmasaur Sulfur until it becomes an Adult. Sulfur can be found in the Volcano Biome, and lots can be found near the Scorched Earth Biome which is located at the bottom.
Magmasaurs can be found at the end of the fire wyvern trench. You find eggs back in that cave and you also get element back there. Hope this helps!
When raising Magmasaurs, you can incubate their eggs with either standing torches, dimetrodons (level melee only, it increases the incubation effect), air conditioners or a combination of all of the above. It takes a LOT of heat.
They eat Ambergris which can easily be mined from the lunar biome with an Anky (for the best yield).
Higher level Magmasaurs are best to raise, they have better food value.
At the “Juvenile” stage when they can be on trough, you can put their food (Ambergris) into a trough which helps with raising multiple tames (or bring over a character that has Tek unlocked and use a Tek Trough to preserve the food). (I play Xbox official).
Low level Mags might not look like they are taking food from the trough if their food value is low. Watch them and see if they eat once the value reaches zero. Higher levels do better for some reason. This knowledge might save someone some sleep. :-)
