What they do is they improve the effectiveness of underwater drops (ONLY) for example befor taming this Dino youl get for example a primitive rocket launcher after taming youl get a astended rocket launcher and this buff last a quite a bit but the Dino despawns after 30 minutes and keep in mind he is one of the rarest creatures in the game so tame only when your in late game and being escourted my a mosa or somthing cause these guys are about as strong as my pinkey toe and they need giant bee honey to tame wich you need to find a active nest of bees break it down kill all the workers and tame the bee with kibb (THE QUEEN GIANT BEE IS THE ONLY WAS TO GET THE REQUIRED HONEY FOR THIS TAME)also keep in mind these bees are hella rare but not nearly as rare as the lioplerodon then when you have the lioplerodon you don’t wait any time sit on it and go get EVERY UNDER WATER DROP YOU CAN cause again these guys ugh expire after 30 minutes

Careful with this one, after 30 minutes it goes to candy mountain without you and never comes back.

With new update (announced july2020) the tame will last 6 hours. Long enough to really benefit from farming ocean loot crates boost that it gives.

In ASA this guy is king of the loot, super ez tame, he’s gone in 30 minutes but is buff last for like 6hrs. Just hit all the loot drops and get up to 50% increases in quality.

There's a misconception that this was updated for the tame to last 6 hours rather than 30 minutes; the TAME only lasts 30 minutes, but the BUFF it gives now lasts 6 hours.

The buff it gives changes the loot obtained from drops, although it can be worse. Have a tribemate without the buff check the drop to see if it's worth the gamble.

these guys’ll give you a nice buff for underwater loot crates, they’ll provide a cool look, teach you how to shave and maybe they’ll teach you how to play catch! but after 30 minutes, it’ll disappear. just like my dad.
