Alright so mini story/encounter on the Lost Island, these things spawn everywhere! On every beach, deep ocean, coral reef, and yes the shallows. Its me my parasaur and my 6 dilos running from 2 rexes blocking our way home following the corpses my dilo army has left and one in front murdering all the brontos with its mutant teeth, just as in thinking i should haul up on a raft n keep to the shallows since i know they exist what just so happens to spawn in front of my face but a big @$$ albino alpha whale in the shallows with 70% of its body sticking out and 5 sharks gaurding it next to some oil. I did what any sane person whos been greifed before n pulled out my bow n shot a tranq at it to see if it could move. It vanished underwater in seconds n im more scared now that i cant see it.

Long story short i sacrificed the most angry moshchops pumped full of health and ran past a 3rd Trex till we were home. The moshchops is alive somewhere but probably not for long, the angery dodo picked a fight with a turtle n bronto n lasted about 10mins though. ~Witch Subject#1

My raptor jumped off to fight them. Bless him. I had enough time to sail away, but the raptor never was seen again. Yet, I never got the death message..

Guys, hear my bad luck!

Sooo I was going to the desert on lost island after a successful mining trip, with my max level anky on a raft with me, close to the shore, when a leed spawns right behind me so I’m like “oh #@$# but I think I’m to shallow.” NOT! 3 seconds later, my Ankys drowning, I’m dieing to megs, a kapro TWO sarco and some mega pharinas. This ligit happend to me, I had 3700 plus metal!!! One up equals 1 prayer for my metal

P.s I had a high weigh anky and storage box’s on the boat if your wondering how I transported it all.

I was in the middle of the open ocean the first time I encountered these. One started chomping on my raft as I was going to the Herbivore Island. I had no clue what it was so I just kept plowing through the water. In the end, I made it to the island and the Leedsichthys didn't destroy the raft entirely. I hopped in the water to get a look at it and it just sat there. They don't mind people, only boats.

The great white whale

9am: I decide to make a raft base so I'm not met with a death screen everytime I log in.

11am: I've finally finished the structure, I go to work.

5 pm: I log into the server, to my joy i'm not met with a respawn screen, I have some fun sailing my raft around and decide to extend it for storage space.

5:30 pm: I've finished the extension, it looks good, I knockout a raptor from inside my raft, while that's taming I fend off argentavis from the raft; from my home.

6 pm: I decide that I need metal, I saw a cave on the south of the island earlier so I decide to bring my raft down there, I stick close to the shore so I don't encounter any leedsichthys, eventually, I come to a large gulf, I decide to save time by sailing across.

This was the worst decision I've ever made

6:30 pm: I begin crossing the gulf, all is well, then I hear it, a loud sound, coming from underneath me, I look down and there it is; the biggest creature I've ever seen, all I can see is A head bigger then my raft, and a pale white colour, I panick, I desperately try to make it back to the shore but I've come too far, there's no going back now, with another great roar the beast's large dorsal fin rises above the water and it hits my raft, shattering it into splinters with a single blow, the last thing I see as Megalodon feast upon me, is a giant white tail, wreathed in the red glow of death.

I was just on my raft going over to herbivore island, and I probably guessed it. He killed me and all my games on the boat. It was regular one, but 5 ark days later I came back with another ark boat and you wouldn’t believe what imma bouta say, but there were 2 circling herbivore island. 1 was an alpha and the other was the same on the killed. Long story short, I died trying to escape.

Chapter 13: Sodden Conflicted

Story starts in Achatina, The Island ABC order and has a Prologue. Last chapter in Iguanodon, next chapter in Mammoth.

This is a continuation of Chapter 12. It will be a long chapter too.

Sodden’s pteranodon quickly approached the back of the base. When the pteranodon landed at the back door, Sodden ran to the front, but no one was there. He ran inside and saw the tribe sitting around,, eating some meat. “Guys. You need to hide. Now.” Sodden said. “Why?” Red said. “Because… I… I saw… I saw… saw…” Sodden said, hesitating to say the reason why they needed to hide. “Dude, just say.” Red said. “A friend of mine told me about a tribe that was hunting you. And I saw their flag while I was flying back. They’re heading towards the base!” Sodden yelled. Everyone gasped loudly. “Nameless!? That idiot tribe! I wish they could just leave us alone!” Red said. “They’re coming!?” Denine screamed. “Yes, but they won’t do anything if they know you’re not here. So you need to hide. I will handle this.” Sodden said. He turned around, but Denine grabbed his arm. “Where!?” She yelled. “In the barn, within the raptors. The raptor pen will cover everything. You need to go. They could be almost here.” Sodden said. Denine was speechless. She was breathing hard, whimpering. “No one will get hurt as long as you do what I say. Now go hide!” Sodden yelled. Everyone nodded then ran out of the back gate and towards the barn. Sodden looked out a window and saw the group running into the barn. And just in time, because he looked up to see the flag again! Then someone hopped off the lead Giga and banged on the gates. Sodden groaned then walked to the gates. He opened the doors. “Hello, sir. Is it okay if we inspect your base? We’re doing an inspection to confiscate any kind of overpowered or dangerous property.” The person said. “Uh… yes. Just stay out of the barn. There’s a lot of strong creatures in there and it reeks too.” Sodden said. “We wouldn’t invade your tames’ privacy. Let us in, please.” The person said. “Yes.” Sodden said. He ran to his base and opened the doors so that Nameless’ tribemaster could enter. The tribemaster walked in and looked through the first floor of the base, through the kitchen, the forge room, the storage room, but when he got back to Sodden 10 minutes later, he said, “I can’t seem to find what we’re looking for. We need to check upstairs.” The tribemaster said. Sodden nodded. As the tribemaster walked up the stairs, Sodden snuck out the back door towards the barn to check on it. But when he entered, he saw someone in it. “Tribemaster Cordor, this guy who lives here has horrible tames. He’s stupid. Oh… hi.” The person said to his implant as he turned around to see Sodden. He turned off voice recorder and walked to Sodden. “Raptors are terrible at PvP.” The person said. “What do you mean? They have a pack bonus. They can destroy the bosses in a few minutes.” Sodden said. “Okay, your Carchas… what are their stats?” The person said. “The breeding pair I’m currently using is 190% melee and around 19000 health. They have quite a few health mutations.” Sodden said. “Dang. You are… WHAT!?” The person sneered, then looked up to catch someone in the roof’s opening. “Who is… wait.” The person said. He used his implant to look at the structures and saw that they were owned by the Tribe of Nudon. “NUDON! Cordor, get down here and send in the Gigas!! You are dead. So dead. So hecking dead!” The person screamed. Sodden tried to run, but the person threw a bola at him. Then the Carchas went to attack him, but he took out a shotgun and blasted a Carcha in the mouth, and then blood spilled on the ground. The person climbed the walls, kept shooting the Carchas who were standing above Sodden, and tried to get in the hole in the wall. Then Cordor, the tribemaster, stormed into the barn. The Nudon group tried to sneak out while the Carchas were fighting, but Cordor threw a bola at Denine. It missed, but knocked her bag off her back. Cordor grabbed it and threw it to the ceiling. The person on the ceiling caught it and took out the god shotgun. “It’s ours! This idiot really believes he can free the people of the Assassin Heart. He’s young, he’s dumb, and he’s terrible! We’ll let him watch us kill his friends, then we’ll kill him.” The person said. Then they heard roaring, and suddenly, the barn shook and exploded. The Gigas knocked it down. They closed in on Nudon and another group went for the Rexes. Sodden was very upset and confused. He had no idea what was going on. But he had to do something. He secretly poured out a pile of 40 cryopods. He hit them all and all of them opened and Carchas came out. The person handed Cordor the shotgun as the Gigas had the tribe’s survivors on their knees, their hands behind their heads. Cordor aimed the shotgun first at Red’s implant. His finger rested on the trigger, about to pull, then the Carchas and raptors came and knocked him down. Denine quickly grabbed the shotgun, but the other Nameless tribemate grabbed her and threw her across the floor, and the shotgun fell out of her arms. Then Sodden threw a bola at both the Nameless dudes, but the Gigas started attacking the Carchas. Sodden released all his cryopods at once to stop the Gigas, and he quickly led Nudon into the forest.

After 20 minutes of running from Gigas, the group stopped for a break. The Gigas had decimated the Carchas, and Reaper was Sodden’s only raptor left. Sodden sat on a rock, near a campfire he placed, and everyone else surrounding it. “So you’re a fraud.” Red said. “Well… I just don’t understand this.” Sodden said. “If you don’t understand, you could’ve gotten help. Or just… don’t do it!” Red said. He held Denine in his arms, shaking and bleeding out her shoulder. “Well… I feel like my purpose is to help people.” Sodden said. “Well, you are horrible at that! You are not worthy for such a mission. You know, I should actually decommission this mission. Okay, ready. I hereby pronounce JTAC terminated! Reason: because Sodden is a fraud and an idiot!” Red said. Sodden stood up just then. “Guys… I didn’t…” Sodden said. “You should’ve cared more for your friends than your stupid mission! Go kill your creatures. I don’t care! I get it. You think it’s not that hard. You have to pass a lot of dangerous tribes and a lot of bad enemies to get the heart. Terad is a bad guy. He’s using you! This is a mission for experienced and long time survivors like us! You spawned in two months ago, made almost no progress towards beating this Ark, and your little “play” ALMOST GOT US KILLED!!! Our Rexes are gone, my poor tribemaster is traumatized, and it’s all your fault!” Red yelled. Everyone murmured in agreement, then stood up and walked in the other direction. Sodden couldn’t say anything. He let out a long sigh then put his head down.

As the sun began to set, Sodden slowly walked to his base. His walls were broken, his barn was destroyed, there was blood everywhere from all the dead Carchas and raptors, and his main base was slightly damaged. He felt like a terrible person after that. He slowly walked into his base, walked to his fridge, ate some carrots and meat, drank some water from a water jar, put everything back, then walked to his bedroom. He took out his artifact and threw it on the ground. “I don’t want that.” Sodden growled. He collapsed on his bed and fell asleep in minutes.

A few hours later, Serenity was riding her Giga towards Sodden’s base to check on him. While she was going through the trees, knocking them down and matting down the grass, she saw Red and the entire group of Nudon walking. “Oh, hey guys. What happened?” Serenity said. “Your stupid ally is a fraud.” Red said. “What do you mean?” Serenity said. “He let Nameless approach us and we almost died permanently because Cordor got his hands on Denine’s god shotgun. Sodden is terrible.” Red said. “What? What… you mean he found out and didn’t think to go to his friends if he thought Nameless was coming? That’s not him.” Serenity said. She tapped her Giga and it ran through the trees, and stomping got quieter and quieter. “Okay.” Red said. The group kept walking.

After an hour, Serenity showed up at Sodden’s base and her jaw dropped. “Oh, god. They weren’t joking about what happened here.” She said. She got off her Giga and knocked on the door. No response. “He’s probably asleep.” Serenity said. She knocked harder. Still no response. Serenity then took out a riot shield, backed up, then ran at the door and it burst open, breaking into pieces. The sound jolted Sodden’s ears and he got up. He walked to the front and saw Serenity standing there. Sodden sighed.

Later, the two sat on the sandy shores, before the crashing waves. Sodden explained what happened and what was really happening with him. Sodden said that he didn’t know what the mission really was or what he had to do, he just did it and wanted to continue his desire for killing all creatures. When Sodden stopped talking, the place was silent. After a good 15 seconds of silence, Serenity sighed and said, “Well. I’m not mad, just disappointed. You could’ve said that a lot sooner.” “Well, I didn’t think to do that, since… I thought I could handle it. I didn’t even understand what it was. I did it because I wanted to free people trapped in the chains of the Assassin Heart.” Sodden said. “It’s not easy for anyone to handle it. And you don’t have to go that far to help people. But maybe show some respect for your friends. Dundo told you about Nudon’s enemy, and you could’ve come back to base to see if Nameless was coming. You’d have way more time to think of a plan. But you stalled off, thinking you could handle it at the last second, and your base is wrecked, Nudon left, and now…” Serenity said. She said nothing else. Then, after a long pause, Serenity said, “The Assassin Heart is hidden in Extinction’s depths. Many tribes, like the C Tribe, are evil and try to stop people from getting to it. One of the only ways someone can manage to get through the C Tribe and ascend all the way through Aberration and all the other Arks is to trick them. Get Terad’s trust, and sneak out without him noticing. You can do what you like, but maybe try to balance what you want to do and what you need to do properly. Maybe, less tames will die and less tribes will be in grave danger.” Serenity said. “Wow. I know how dangerous these tribes are now. But…” Sodden said. “Your Carchas weren’t very good, anyway. But you still have a chance. Terad is the only one who doesn’t know your true mission. Make sure he stays on our side until it’s necessary to escape him. And you can’t do it alone.” Serenity said. “Well… everyone thinks I’m a fraud now.” Sodden said. “We can make up to Nudon after what happened. Why don’t we visit them in the morning?” Serenity said. “Okay.” Sodden said. He smiled. “Thanks.” He says. “Yeah. I’m here for you. Remember, it’s not the time to break Terad’s trust, so I gotta stay with him. But if it really needs to happen, I’ll leave him.” Serenity said. Sodden nodded then looked out to the ocean. “I still got three creatures and two of them are underwater, so…” Sodden said. He then embraced Serenity and said, “We’ve got each other.” Serenity smiled and said, “Well, I’m not much of a hugger, but thanks.” Then Sodden let go and threw a cryopod out into the ocean. A Mosa came out, and Sodden put on scuba gear and hopped on. “See you tomorrow, buddy.” Sodden said. Serenity nodded and said, “You too,” then she ran to her Giga and hopped on. The Giga ran into the jungle and Sodden dived into the ocean. In ten minutes, three messages popped up. “Sodden (Level 58)’s Mosasaur (Level 239 Mosasaur) killed a Leedsicthys (Level 1) killed a Liopleurdon (Level 20!) killed a Lystrosaurus (Level 35!)

Ultimus Chapter 17: Others

Paul Riddley stood there next to his newest tame that they acquired, a Ceratosaurus. She was young and honestly quite inexperienced and weak compared to what he had been riding for the past several months.

‘She may not be Brutus, but they sure great travel mounts.’ He thought as he mounted, The Scottish-American had ridden countless young and inexperienced horses where he was from but it was different riding an inexperienced dinosaur. He took a glance down at his wrist only to remember that he didn’t have a watch. He looked towards the blue sky, hating how it never changed. He hated having to worry about not knowing the time of day. Their Tek went dead on them a few hours after they arrived, three days ago. Erica said that Element would be easier to get here than on the Ark, but it would take time to get used to their new surroundings and strengthen their forces. They kept the armor, but Paul still missed being able to tell proper time everywhere he went and not guess at everything.

“Quit worrying about Jonathan and Sylas, Paul. They're fine, probably squabbling but fine.” A voice said next to him, that would be his right-hand woman Erica Stevens. A woman who had a reserved past but who he’d been friends with since they met on that place’s beach 8 months ago. She was riding a trike that she named Taurus.

“You make them sound like children. Do you mean squabble like arguing children or squabble like at one having the other at knifepoint? And I’m also worried about Freya if you must know, this place seems more dangerous than the Ark we came from. We should have helped her on this hunt.” Paul said, Erica looked at him with a goofy concerned look.

“You know that only happened twice with Jonathan in the beginning and Sylas was screaming like a chicken on both occasions.” Erica said,

“And about Freya?” Paul asked,

“Freya is an adult, Paul. She would’ve forced you to stay while she hunted by herself. To a point that she would knock you out.” Erica answered.

“I suppose you're right on that, but you should have stayed back with Sylas and Jonathan to watch over them while I waited here.”

“And listen to them bicker the entire time, why do you think I came along?” Erica said jokingly, Paul looked at her unamused. He sighed as he looked off into the distance of the vast wasteland.

“What else is bothering you, Paul?” Erica said smiling,

“Why didn’t you tell us? In the hallway to the arena… that one hologram, why didn’t you tell us that was our home now?” Paul said staring her down, Erica’s smile disappeared and she looked away.

“It was irrelevant at the time.”

“Irrelevant Erica?! The Earth hasn’t gotten dark since we got here?! The landscape of Earth is dead and so alien to what it normally was then?! The moon, the thing I looked at for its beauty for years is shattered into bloody pieces! How could you think it was irrelevant to anyone Erica?!” Paul confronted,

“It was irrelevant because it was Paul!! We were being hunted by Priests of Mictlantecuhtli forces and their psycho leader so I didn’t really think about telling you!! Plus I had never seen or had to deal with those caves before so that was stressful in itself. Now yes, the Earth was dying from a war that happened before I was born, but only its ecosystem at my time. Earth had a rotation and the moon was fine, I didn’t know about any of the rest. But it doesn’t change the fact that Earth is dying unless we get that station down! And for that, we have to find the system.” Erica spat in anger, the two then sat there in silence as they waited for their friend for several minutes. Paul felt bad for chewing her out. He hated getting angry at people, but he felt misled by her telling them how to get down here but not being told what happened to Earth. However, he heard a noise in the distance but didn’t catch it and tried to listen to it again.

“Look, Paul, I’m sorry that I-” “Pin yer lugs back.” Paul interrupted.

“Paul, you know how I hate apologizing for anything, so can you please just let me-” She said before pausing, noticing that Paul’s hand was over his mouth in the quiet motion and pointed towards the wasteland. She listened for a moment before hearing a voice.

“Paul, Erica!! I need help over here!” A voice’s shout echoed from the distance. It was Freya. The two looked at each other.

“What do you think she wants?” Erica said,

“I don’t know, but it would definitely be important.” Paul said.

Then they rode their mounts as quickly as possible to get over to where they saw Freya go off to. Where they found the ground lowered into a Sulfur Field. They didn’t know where to go from there, but they didn’t have to know where. They heard shouting and yelling coming from the left side of the Sulfur Field. They began to rush towards the noise to see what was going on. As they got closer, they began to hear what the shouter was saying.

“STOP SPEAKING LIKE THAT!! WHAT ARE YOU!?” The voice shouted, they began to rush, and as they got to a ridge. They saw what was going on.

There they saw Freya, hands in the air with her one Axe on the ground as she was trying to talk down a masked figure, with his face almost entirely covered. The man held a bow aiming at her head. Erica pulled from her saddle a longneck rifle and aimed it at the assailant. Paul looked over at her and his eyes widened.

“Erica, Don’t!!” He said a bit loud, a little too loudly as Freya and the masked person looked at them. Immediately the bow changed color to a red and his aim changed direction towards them. Erica lowered her rifle and scowled at Paul.

“Way to go.” She growled, Paul glared at her but was interrupted by the masked person.

“What are you things! Aliens? Ghosts? My Sanity? What Are You!!” The person yelled with the voice trembling, it sounded like a man from what Paul could tell.

“What are you talking about? We’re like you? Humans, survivors. From the Arks.” Paul yelled back,

“What?” The masked man said,

“The Arks, a place you were before, one that was lusher than it is here?” Paul said, the man seemed to pull his bow harder back as he aimed.

“Quit lying and tell me… What Are You?!” He said aimed it at Paul. Paul raised his hands in the air before he slowly put them on his saddle and dismounted.

“What are you doing!?” Erica said aloud as Paul got off the Ceratosaurus and began walking with his hands in the air down a path that led him to the masked man. As he got closer, he could see the man was wearing armor similar to Tek, and his bow also seemed to be. However the dark lensed goggles and what looked like a futuristic bandanna didn’t seem to be Tek, though they were futuristic to some degree and they seemed to be attached to each other. His hair was dirty blonde and messy. While his aim and movement was that of stone on Paul. His breathing was shallow and rapid as Paul got closer.

“D-D-Don’t get closer.” The man said, but Paul didn’t listen. He continued walking up to the man until he was only about 6 feet away. Paul lowered his hands and showed them to the man. He spun around slowly before facing the man once again.

“We are just like you. It’s okay.” Paul said, the man looked at him, at first he seemed to not care. But he lowered his weapon and dropped it on the ground. Slowly, his breathing began to increase in volume and turned into hyperventilating. He ripped off his goggles and mask to get more air, revealing his face. He was young, early twenties or late teens. His deep green eyes were red and teary as he stared at Paul.

“Please, please tell me your real? Please tell me I’m not imagining you all?” The man heaved, tearing as he did. Paul was confused by this question in its entirety, but the man was dead serious in asking the question.

“Yes, yes we’re real.” He said, the man started crying as he balled up on the ground and began to cry. Paul was shocked by this reaction. He honestly wasn’t sure what to do. He looked over at Freya, she grabbed her axe off the ground and walked towards him.

“He’s such a broken man. I could hear it through his voice.” She spoke, her mouth moving differently than what Paul heard. However, he had gotten used to it.

“I’m s-sorry, I didn’t mean t- I’m so sorry.” The man began sobbing, repeating it over and over.

“Hey, hey, It’s okay. You did no harm, so there isn’t anything wrong. Now yer looking a bit peely wally, sit here and rest.” Paul said kneeling next to him. The man looked confused still crying but he nodded in compliance. Paul got up to see Erica running down to them with her rifle in hand. He started walking toward her and Freya followed carrying her axe. They were outside of earshot of the man at this point.

“So, what are we going to do with this guy?” Erica said, her tone serious and her face uneasy.

“I Havnae a Scooby.” Paul said thoughtfully, he was replaying the scene that just happened in his head.

“Well, I don’t think we should let him live.” Erica an

“What? What harm has he done? I don’t think we should leave him alone. He’s in pain.” Freya argued, Erica scoffed at this.

“He’s done a fair bit of harm. Especially since he’s in that armor and has that weapon. And you think it’s okay to let him into our tribe?”

“Well, why not? He can be a useful ally.”

“You’re too trusting in others, Freya.” Erica said irritated.

“And you are too distrustful of others Erica. What could he do to us?” Freya said.

“What if it’s a trap, what if he has allies and they are waiting to ambush our entire group? If they are all wearing what he is wearing, we’re all dead with no chance. That’s why we should kill him, we get the armor and gear and we would be a whole lot safer.” Erica said, Freya shook her head as she said this.

“You’re being absurd Erica.” Freya said.

“No, you are the only one who’s being absurd here Freya.” Erica said irritated,

“Both of you, keep yer heids!” Paul shouted stepping into the argument.

“Freya, you are being a bit too at ease here with this situation. It could be very well a trap.” Paul said, Erica huffed proudly, “Let me finish Erica. However, Freya, I agree with you.” Paul finished.

“What?!” Erica said,

“He’s having a breakdown Erica, and he isn’t faking it. And what it’s from that I’ve seen is believing that we weren’t and threatening to shoot us. He’s alone, and to be honest I don’t think it’s safe to leave him. Plus, he may have better experience in this world than any of us here.” Paul answered,

“What experience?! I lived here!! We don’t need him.” Erica stated,

“True, but you’ve even said it yourself that this place is different from when you were here. He may know this place better than you.” Paul stated, Erica gave him a scowl.

“Are you doing this to get back at me?” She said irritated.

“No, I’m doing this for our best chance at survival.” Paul fibbed, he knew that he did do it slightly because of that reason. He walked away from the other and went over to the man. He seemed a bit calmer. His breathing slowed and his sniffling more quieter. His nature seemed almost childlike.

“Hey, you good?” Paul asked kindly, the man nodded.

“Do you mind if I ask you some questions?” Paul asked, the man shook his head.

“I don’t mind, if you allow me to ask you some questions.”

“Alright, let’s start with an easy question. Where were you f-”

“Arat Prime Military Hospital, born 2353.” He said quietly,

“Alright, what’s your name?” Paul asked, but the man stayed silent. Paul sighed to himself.

“My name is Paul Riddley by the way. I don’t think we got off the foot before.” Paul said, extending his hand out to the man. He looked at him for a moment before extending his hand out to shake.

“Andrew.”

“Andrew?”

“Just Andrew, what’s the point in a last name when you don’t have anyone who would use it.” He said, he looked above him as though looking at someone else. Paul glanced over his shoulder to see Erica walking up, hoisting the rifle over her shoulder. She saluted them, showing her implant in her wrist and Paul nodded. He looked back to see the man confused at what had happened. He took this curiously as this was the first time a survivor took it as they didn’t know what it meant.

“Alright, final what Ark did you first wake up from?” Paul asked.

“What?” The man said,

“Ark, you know. That place you were when you woke up?” Erica butted in.

“The Camacho Forest?”

“What? How- No, I mean the creature-infested, overgrown space stations? The Arks?” She continued,

“I don’t follow. What Space Stations? What other places? The only places I’ve been before are a few small outcrops of ruined buildings and towns, Sanctuary, and Camacho International Forest. Nowhere else, ” Andrew stated in frustration, Paul looked at Erica who seemed dumbfounded by this. And to Paul, he was just as confused by this. If he was a survivor, how did he get down here?

“Could I ask my questions now?” Andrew asked, Paul broke free from his thoughts for a moment to answer.

“Yeah, yeah. Go on.”

“How can you understand her, are you both fluent in her language?” He asked, pointing to Freya who was beginning to harvest the carcasses. Paul shot a confused look at Andrew.

“Don’t you?”

“No, I couldn’t understand anything she said. It’s why I became so afraid of her. I didn’t know what she was saying or what she wanted.”

“Isn’t your translator working?”

“Translator?”

“Aye, the one in your implant?”

“Implant?”

“Aye, the one in your left wrist.” He said, the man looked confused.

“What implant?”

“Here, let me see your wrist.” Paul said as he grabbed his wrist.

“The one right here?” He continued before pausing in confusion. There was no implant. Nothing of the sort.

“Erica, he doesn’t have one.” Paul said,

“That’s impossible, everyone on the Arks has to have one.”

“But I was never on these “Arks”. I was here on Earth ever since I woke up from Cryostasis.” Andrew said.

“How then? How- Cryostasis? You were frozen?” She asked, he nodded.

“For how long? And how long have you been awake since then?” She asked again.

“I’ve been awake for just over 12 years. As for how long, I don’t know. The longest-running clock before dying that I’ve found has said just over a thousand years from when I went into Cryostasis.” He stated.

“A thousand years?” Freya repeated. For Paul. A deep feeling in his gut dropped harder than anything he had ever felt. And he sure didn’t feel alone in this moment of grief and pain. As he knew both Freya and Erica had to have the same feelings.
