The Karkinos is tamed by trapping or netting it, knocking it unconscious with careful catapult strikes to its shell, and feeding it the appropriate kibble while avoiding its head and legs. As a mount, it can carry creatures and heavy resources, use their harvesting abilities, throw creatures, wield weapons, resist projectiles, and leap across dangerous terrain. When encountering one, fight on land from behind or beneath its legs with ranged attacks, avoid its grab—especially near water—and use grappling hooks or Plant Species Z grenades to escape if caught.
