Use the net gun to trap one, place down a catapult turret, have boulders in you inventory, start shooting at it. If it runs towards you net it again because they can pull you off your catapult. Once it’s knocked out feed it spoiled meat

Killing these will give you alot of chitin and organic polymer if you ever wanna live on floating islands on crystal isles.

Hard knock out tame! Best food extraordinary kibble or spoiled meat. Shot it at the body not legs.

Can be used to tame aggres-passive dinos (e.g arthropluera) more easily by grabbing them since it doesn't drop them when you dismount like argentavis.

When utilized correctly, they make for awesome small raiding parties. Use launch to throw gliders to the air.

Karkinos is one of the most useful games on abberation due to its incredible mobility, its ability to carry creatures, and its usefulness in less extreme fights, so here’s a guide to get you one of these wonderful crabs!

1. Karkinos must be knocked out using a catapult or cannon tranq arrows and darts will not work. When deciding whether to use a cannon, know that it will tank the taming effectiveness of the Karkinos, at the benefit of knocking it out in one hit. This makes it easier to set up, but less rewarding overall. If you decide to use a catapult you will need somewhere around 20 boulders to knock out a 150, however I strongly recommend preparing extra, 30-40 to account for misses etc. you will also need a trap (unless you want to miss a lot, potentially die, and rage). I recommend looking one up on YouTube

2. Karkinos prefer exceptional kibble, and if you have access to it I would recommend using it, it will provide a perfect tame and be quickest. If not however, spoiled meat is also very effective, not giving a perfect tame, but near it. It will take a little longer but you shouldn’t need narcotics to keep the Karkinos unconscious.

3. For the catapult set up your trap and catapult and lure the Karkinos in. Begin shooting it directly on the body (it should have a special animation and do different dmg) which is the only place that will inflict torpor. Eventually it will fall unconcious and you can feed it (there is a small risk of death when using a catapult depending on the health stat so you can feed it a corpse to heal it). For the cannon, since it is a one hit ko, a trap is not needed but make sure you hit it directly on the body. If you miss try again, you will only have a few shots to hit it if you don’t build a trap before it reaches you and attacks.

4. Since karkinos will only aggro bailisks in the green zone they should almost always be safe to leave, if it’s in the blue zone there’s more danger to it being attacked and dying or ruining effectiveness. The Karkinos will usually not need narcotics to tame, so once you put food in you should be good to go

so these things are easy to tame. It’s easiest to do in multiplayer but also is pretty easy in single player just requires more work. So in multiplayer how did it (in aberration) got my friend to agro onto him, so i could catapult it in the back of the shell (⚠️DONT DO IT ANYWHERE ELSE BUT THE BACK OF THE SHELL⚠️) and it knocked out fed it and boom. Now onto single player, So how i did it was get something that can tank A LOT of hits such as a carbonemys and place the catapult behind the karkinos and shoot it until it knocks out. and that’s about it!

Walking Turret:

1. Grab dino

You can use different Dinos for this:

- Dilo (Low DPS) (slower Speed and Bad Vision)(Low damage)

- Velona (High DPS) (Medium damage)

- arthropluera (Low DPS) (opponent Armor destruction) (Medium/High damage)

2. Put the Dino on turrets Mode and agressive

3. Enjoy you Walking turrets

If you intend on fighting a Karkinos with a creature that can not be picked up, make sure to never attack the Karkinos from the back of your mount. Ex, crossbow, rifle, etc. If you do the Karkinos will agro onto the player at witch point it can pluck you right off your mount.

Crab and anky by far the best mining on abberation

Easy Tame. Used catapult and stone gates, though I had to use an owl a couple times. Very cheap like 320 metal for the whole thing.

If Mr. Krabs can pick up stegos, WHY CANT THEY PICK UP TRIKES!!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Pick things up with this, and tranq them with rifle, u can do it while mounted, or, thing u want to tame in one claw, snake in the other. Boo yah! U are welcome.

If you want to knock it out with out trapping it have a parcer with a platform saddle it must have at least 2000 health to be safe place the cattpult at the back faceing the back also bring like 15 boulders to be safe and something that you could use to kill one if things get out of control. Lastly you need to make sure there are no alphas nearby in the water because I have encountered a couple before.aim for the abdomen and good luck!

Don’t make my mistake, make a catapult not a cannon to tame it.

When the crab gets low and another boulder might kill it, just hop back to your base and fetch some crappy babys or any other crappy dinos you might want to get rid of and chug them right in his face. Due to cryo sickness the crab will kill them quickly and it restores a ton of health! I fed 10 to 15 bad megalosaurus babys to a 150 crab and healed it from under 1k to full 6k health in 1 minute. Just take off with a flyer so the crab actually aggros to the „food“

Don't listen to the guys who said easy kill with a bow as these take 1/10 damage from bullets and arrows not sure if that includes compound bows but that mean they take 10 from each auto turret bullet!
