What is a kaprosuchus used for? kaprosuchus battling strategies in ARK: Survival Evolved.
If you are a mobile player, although it might still be good on other devices, start breeding them! On mobile in my experience even a level 20 can do the same damage as a theri! It’s much easier to hatch them then tame them, especially with imprinting. They also have epic colour regions, and I got a cyan colour on its top half while I was playing on a server, this guy gave me a gc for it. (Golden collar) they are much better then raptors, although they are easier to tame in my opinion. If you play pvp, get a pack of 5+ and you could kill a Rex.
Second best for swimming! (A close call with cast) They can swim underwater pretty smoothly, and can swim on the water to let you get some air. Or, take a diplocaulus and breathe as you need! (You’ll see what I’m talking about) To see the best swimmer, see the Casteroids. For third best, see Kaprosuchus. Warning! This creature cannot hold passengers.
These guys do good damage so that's OK for hunting ... but the bad thing is there slow.. there speed is compared to a parasaur and swim speed they swim like a baryonyx not that fast.. so it's better to fight stuff that's slow or will fight back except raptors cause they can pounce you off and kill you and if your kapro is on passive it'll also die so the recommended dinos/creatures to kill are : phiomias, trikes, parasaurs, dilophs, low lvl raptors (1-20) and iguanodons if you can kill them before they start to run away.
To the person asking what's the use of this, there are quite a few creatures on mobile that have absolutely no uses at all... but not the kapro. Yes, as you say the sarco is better at everything apart from land travel, but did you forget kapro's stamina drain?. It might not seem much on low levels, but get a pair of lv 225+ imprinted kapros and you'll see. Given enough health and time, kapros can annihilate creatures that sarcos might have difficulties with. Also they're fun to play. And spam lunging in the ocean actually can make it as fast as a sarco.
Tame one if you play on a PvP server. The fact that they can pick up players (and even some smaller mounts), you can ambush them as they leave their base and bring them to a buddy who is riding a much more dangerous mount. If you are on/near the beach you can pick people up and drown them very easily (because it naturally drains the stam of anything it grabs, plus players will waste stam punching it in a panic).
