When I was pretty new to ARK I was hunting in the swamp with my raptor and pteranodon and I saw this. I thought it was a sarco from a distance but as I approached I realized it was way too small and figured it was a kapro (I would browse dododex when I was bored and look at the dinos, so j knew a good number of them). I set my dinos to passive and decided to tame it but then this mad lad leaps out of the lake and uses me as a chew toy. Luckily, I was in a single player server with high modifiers and low difficulty, so the tranq arrows I fired while he was in midair kicked in and he just went out. Still gave me a heat attack and I named him Bad Dog

I highly recommend counting on being dragged off by one of these guys, stay away from the water even on a tall mount, the lower you go, the higher the chances of you being knocked off your mount and dragged off into the water. Have a sword or bolas, I usually go with the sword option as you can just go on to kill it immediately.

The higher your Melee the better your chances of killing them with little damage taken. I've fought them off easier with the sword.

Avoid Dinos that are low to the ground cause they will snatch right off... Just avoid the swamps until you have the appropriate equipment and armor to deal with Dinos in the swamp. These guys are worse than Sarcos.

If he most annoying devils I ever had to deal with but what I do is usually kill boas until I get iron spear or make one and bam they have no power over me until a swarm of reptiles are in the swamp u would not believe today I had to deal with a gang there where sarcocs boas and theses devils I had to bait them away from my body just to get my stuff back

These guys will ruin your day when they sneak out of the swamp water and bite your a**

Kapros will jump at you and drag you under the water. For a time you will be immobilized. Good to keep a few guardians around when hunting them.

Well then welcome mr Kaprosuchus to the creatures that have killed me in ark gang

Two of these grabbed me off my argy before I can grab them and killed me, not a big deal since I’m playing casual mode on mobile meaning the only stuff lost is around 100 fibre. But they damaged my ascendent chitin armour so much I have to spend 700 chitin repairing it : (

Other members of the gang includes:

-triceratops

-pteranodon (I stole an egg)

-manta

-sarcosuchus

(Just realised both crocodile species in ark have now killed me once before)

If you get snatched off of your mount by a Kapro under level 10, you can punch it un-conscious before you die... don’t give up!

Using a bola while you choke in there grasp no long works on mobile

For those who get nabbed, hope you brought a shotty, cause you cant bola them anymore

I was going with my argy on mobile then I accidentally picked a kapro and it grabbed me in its mouth úp so péoplé know

If they do manage to grab you I'd suggest try to knock out if you hit their head(which is easy just turn to it) it will get k.o quickly low torpor for tranq aroows

A handful of arrows to the snout/head on a lowish lvl and it's dead

If your thinking of making a swamp base, don't even bother doing it. These things can't be bola'd anymore, not even in frickin' single player, making them impossible to deal with if they catch you...

When I was a noob, I died because they grabbed me and killed me so many times. Now I have a giga and I will make them go extinct.

If your dino is small enough to be picked up and you are riding it, it will pick both of you up and glitch your domino if you kill it

These things are at every pond on scorched earth BE CAREFUL WHEN GOING TO THE OBILISKS especially when you are a low level.

Why are these so fast? It’s very annoying I was very close to dying to one I was taming a raptor and my back was turned to it and it almost killed me my health was at 32
