Dododex is wrong because I tamed a kaprosuchus with 3 raw prime meat level 13 and the speed is absurd if you only level up its speed:)
How 2 Tame the Florida Puppy!
Materials: Tranq arrows or darts, bow, crossbow or rifle, meat, bola if on mobile
1) locate kapro
2) lure it out of the swamp
3) bola it (optional) and fill it with tranqs
4)shove food down it’s throat

How to tame:
1. Craft Bola
2. Yeet at kapro
3. Tranq it
4. Put lotsa meat in inventory
5. Use it to destroy the island
The kaprosuchus is a pretty versatile tame that can be used most effectively as a terrestrial killing machine but also works for fishing (not recommended, mainly because of piranhas and baryonyx) and caving. For the kapro to be a good tame however, you’ll need to tame one that is a relatively high level since kapros at level up to 90 usually only have hp ranging from 200 to 600 in the wild.
But how do you actually use it to fight things effectively?
Well the leap attack and the idle grab can pick up pretty much anything the size of a raptor or smaller but the leap can also be utilized for a combo of sorts or getting out of sticky situations. The combo I’m talking about is really just using the leap on something too big to be picked up, following up with an m1 attack. When fighting something larger than the kapro you need to spam the leap in between regular attacks to do extra damage as much as you possibly can and it’ll make you pretty much impossible to kill for a lot of creatures (I’ve killed therizinos with this method on a lvl 230 kapro)
The leap can also be used for a more cautious approach to combat but leaping towards something, running away and leaping back in, run away, leap attack, run away and I think you get the point now lol. You can also do the opposite and run towards things, do some m1’s, leap away and repeat. Both these methods will slow down the rate that you kill things but it’ll also make you take less damage if you do it right so it’s worth it mainly if there’s a lot of threats in the area.
My favorite use of the leap though is the possibility to just utterly jumpscare small creatures, grabbing them in your mouth in the process and eat them alive with no resistance. Works with players too but be careful because players might be able to defend themselves, so be careful who you pick up.
The kapro is useful for a lot of caves because of the grabbing and leaping letting you escape danger and PICK UP any araneo and a bunch of other cave creatures and kill them pretty easily.

Bro I just got picked up by one and I just punched and keep in mind I just spawned in and I knocked it out
First, wait for it to carry you in its mouth then, start beating it with a club or shoot it with tranq arrows, make sure to give it some bio toxin or narco berrys
DONT PICK THEM UP WITH ARGYS THEY CAN STILL CATCH YOU

Dont plow through swamps with a raft. They still aggro on you and dismount you, and all of your tames on board the raft will leap into the water to protect you, dieing to a bary or sarco.
The best way to escape these crocodilians and counter them is to go to a high ground like hill or big rock i know it cause of my experience. The pounce of a kapro is in a straight line so if your in a high ground the pounce will just cancel giving you the time to escape.

They can’t get you on a stego so if you have a stego you are safe from these kidnappers.
If you fight with it it will jump on you if you tame it it will sleep on you
