Tips & Strategies

When taming, use one person as bait, the Kapro will charge at the person, and then you both pin thanks in it. My friend and I got 4 from this strategy
More Kaprosuchus Taming & KO Tips
Most legitimate taming method for Kapros lvl 50 or lower(I did this at level 8, barely leveled health, and haven’t tested on high levels so it might work on them as well)
Step 1: find yourself a nice spot in the swamp to sit down near the water with your club and relax
Step 2: Get jumped by Kapro
Step 3: start clubbing/punching Kapro, it won’t be able to escape as you are in its mouth
Step 4: feed it literally any meat, I haven’t had problems with kapros actually waking up
Easy tame, you’re welcome (up plz)
DO NOT LAND FOR STAMINA IN THE SWAMP!!!! i lost my best Pteranodon and all my gear to a lvl 100 these guys arent ment to be taken likely and make Sarcos look like dodos
When in swamps, watch yourself. These things will leap at you from nowhere, and they WILL take you off your mount if they touch you
For low level kapros, pump melee and health and make a club, wait in the swamp for one to jump you, and once in its mouth bash it’s head until it sleeps and use local dragonflies and dodos to feed it and boom! Great early game tame- tropeognathus guy
To tame a kapro
1.make a trap
2.find a kapro
3.get it in the trap
4.get Trang arrows and a bow or a crossbow
5.knock it out
6.feed it prime meat
7.equip the saddle and go on an adventure
Up this if you think this is a helpful tip
Here’s how I did it.
Step 1. Find low lvl Kapro
Step 2. Run at Kapro
Step 3. Punch Kapro til it faints
Step 4. Shove boa meat down it’s throat
This method worked twice for me, with a lvl 1 and a lvl 3. If you’re going for a high lvl, a crap load a health will see that this method still works
I ended up taming a level 100 Kapro on Crystal Isles. I was scouting with my level 230 (approximate) pteranodon — oddly enough, I found a lone one just off of the shore in the shoals biome (this area was a bit close to a swamp, so). They are very scary in the water, as they will leap right out of it in an attempt to attack you and your tame granted that you are close enough to the ocean’s surface. I led one onto the beach and was lucky enough to find a tall enough rock to land upon so that the aggravated creature couldn’t reach me. It took several tranq arrows to knock it out using a crossbow. After assuring that the area around me was clear and there weren’t any more threats, I had easily tamed it with a stack of raw meat and carefully led it back to my base. It was easier than I had expected to tame one, even as it was a high level. The advice I would give other players is that if you are going to lead one to a tall rock so you can tranquilize one without getting attacked, I’d still be careful to make the best judgement call with the rock and be 100% positive that it has no parts of it that the creature can pounce onto and find its way to you. By the way, I’m pretty new to Ark still, so my strategy may not be that professional — but I hope it helps other new players!
Pickup with argentavis drop into your taming box as usual. Will fit easily into 2x3. Walls should be at least 3 high.
On ark mobile they are affected by bolas
Whoever said, “they don’t come in purple,”...well...mine’s purple! Ha! Ha!
