Tips & Strategies

What are tips for iguanodon? Tips and strategies for iguanodon in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
How To Tame bola it sling shot or bonk it in the head or tranquil it the freed berries
For a lvl 70 you can just use 25 narcotics you don’t need 35
Southern jungle, footpaw
Bola him and aim his head with tranqs arrow.
Tip 1: Turn autorun on, press "apply" and restart the game(without restarting it may bug and not apply). Without autorun on, when you double tap and hold left side, it won't always sprint, only run. With autorun, it always sprints if you double tap and then hold. It's a bug. You always wanna sprint because of infinite stamina.
Tip 2: When you approach to mount Iguanodon, tap on the top left saddle icon, instead of the normal way on the right side. If you tap on the right, sometimes it may register as action and will make Iguanodon produce seeds instead of you mounting on the saddle. I would also recommend to disable the option that holding tap makes you dismount because some other tames have a hold action, like Trike charge, so you won't dismount while trying to do it.
Step one: Grind up to level 30
Step Two: make a saddle for this guy
Step 3: find and knock
Step Four: tame
Step 5: unlimited seedssss
This guy should be your very first tame. Trust me.
I used bola and club then about 2 seconds later I was dead from it's mate. Make sure it is isn't mated.
These guys are one of my best tames. With it you can probably outrun a wyvern! This is a must tame for beginners!
I just realized iguanodons have mad hops. Also they can only jump when on two legs
Taming a Iguanodon is easy here’s the steps
First get slingshot or tranc arrows
You only need about 10 arrow for a level 50 and below
Once knocked out use anything to tame it most likely berries.
Be careful when around this dino if more are around make sure you are ready for a fight because this animals well end your day
This Dino is an amazing starter tame!
-its easy to knock out, just grab a bola, and use a slingshot!
-Its speed is awesome, it can jump high, it doesn’t take massive fall damage and, it has decent health!
-it can hold a lot of stuff such as, berries, thatch, wood, hide, meat and more!
-If your a farmer you’ll need this, it can turn berries into seeds, it can save you from farming for hours for seeds!
-downsides
-They have decent health but they can easily be killed by something larger then a raptor
-its hard to find a high level and there really a pain to deal with.
-you can get attacked from any side with ease, watch out for that.
-they can easily be bolad and tranqed by enemy players.
-there wait is fine, but it’s not enough, someone could be running at you and you accidentally hit a tree and get encumbered.
Well, I hope this was useful! :)
An alternative to the Parasaur agile and faster but somewhat less HP and weight, will fight back when provoked and can turn berries into seeds with a command Yee!
This guy is good for starters right now I have a igguanadon
a trike and a moschops they are very useful and the igguanadon is good for starters accept it's mostly in the swamp so it makes starters harder to tame it but it's easy to knock out all you need is a bola and fist to knock it out plus you can make army's of these guys without a problem.
You can use all berries not just the kibblei just tamed one with mejos so I'm assuming all berries work
This guy is the therizinosaurus but for starters
It gets narco berries so fast and you could get 30 tranq arrows in just 10 minutes with this man
He is so underrated
Bola it, Tranq dart or arrow to the head, easy KO.
Can be carried by a quetzal. Just carried two of them in the taming pit.
The iguanodon is one of the most important tames early/mid game. Forget metal runs, forget the seeds, try a taming mount with infinite stamina and insane speed that can hold its own against the biggest predators.
Get a high level one, upgrade alot of health and move speed (it’s pretty squishy), and some melee damage. Now get an xbow for every 100 tranq arrows, and narcotics. It should already have enough weight to carry the equipment you need, it has infinite stamina, and it has a decent pike-like attack with a little bit of knockback (move backwards and spam left click).
When fighting/taming on it, circle around the enemy (try to stick on their tail and be annoying), be careful not to get swarmed, try to take things head on, and don’t be afraid to run away on all 4s to avoid taking on too much at once. This thing should be able to hold its own if you can’t be bothered to bring escorts.
To be fair, procoptodon sorta does all this but better in some ways, but iguanodon has its place and is usually located in safe enough areas (watch for raptors).
