Taming & KO Tips
How do I tame a ichthyosaurus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a ichthyosaurus.
SPENT AN HOUR TAMING ONE AND IT JUST DIED
To tame(passive) they will come to you if they get close enough but will wander off after a few feeds. To make it easier build a small pen around them once they attract to you.
Well if you are on mobile and dinos of lvl. 30 rarely roam the island, just cook a Dodo Kibble (You get a pursuit named 'Fresh Breakfast') Just put a Dodo egg, some rokcarrots(You can mostly find them on small hills to big mountains, and to be specific, in jungle ferns and to be even more specific, they thrive near mammals). Then craft a cooking pot and put filled water skins, then add some mejoberries and some fiber. Also add cooked meat. Then light the fire. You get your Kibble. Go near that dolphin and feed it. It will get tamed in one or two kibbles (if it's under lvl.30)
I tamed mine at the red obelisk. He sure liked me, since he didn’t even run away.
Can be tamed by having fish in the last category
Then feed it sone
Note:
If you are taming Ichthys then tame them being underwater (don't get outside the water) or the hostile creatures will aggro on you.
This is Similar like Taming Arthro And Araneo In Caves
Hearing they don’t have any predators they could help with other aquatic passive tames like the manta! Some tames are great for getting other tames, I’ll post a story about my fish’s death in stories!

After the initial feeds, it will swim normally if your mounted. Once you dismount, it will swim directly away from you. Use this mechanic to beach it and stay behind it in the water so it does not flee to ocean. Be mindful of piranha and land Dino's.
With the addition of the new Kaprosuchus you can now grab the Itchy and another tribe member can easily feed it dodo kibble, without the risk of it swimming away.
Easy enough to tame that you don't need to trap it.
They're attracted to players and especially tames, so using anything from a turtle to a mosa makes taming them easy. They may swim off, but are easy to magnet back onto your tame.
I tamed this while on a pelagornis. Kill some fish, and put it on your hot bar. Land in the ocean on the pela. A ichthy or two might swim up to you. Feed fish meat when hungry. You got a ichthy! Also, you have to swim for them to follow. These are the pigeons of the sea (as well as tropical birds!) they will come and keep coming. It started with 1, then 2, then 4. Also pelas can only land on surface.
The karkinos, kaprosuchus, and megalosaurus can not grav/pick up the Ichthyosaurus. Up vote so people can see.
Look out for jellyfish. A group snuck up behind me while taming a 105 ichthyosaurus...
If you tame one of these and live on the beach you will never need oil again because these things can outswim almost everything in the ocean and all you have to do is swim to the bottom and quickly mine some oil and then come up again so i recommend leveling up their weight they will be able to carry more oil so I recommend doing this
These guys are good for underwater adventures. They like invisible to underwater dinos even tuso mosa. The letdown about them is they're so fast to get hungry when sprinting. Make sure you got plenty stack of meat in its inventory.
I know this is under taming I been trying to to tame this but there is sharks every time so annoying
What I did was I built a circle out of stone dino Gates and I got it to follow me in and then boom. You can stay in the circle and tame it and it wont be able to run. Hope this helps.
On mobile , first do the kibble quest and make dodo kibbles, best food for taming icthy...
Technically you can get a bunch of these to come to the surface easily with a pelagornis, and fly away if a megalodon attacks, if you get enough it might even become harder for megalodons to hit you lol
Ichty has been nerfed!!!
All wild or aggressive d dinos will aggro on you even if you ride an ichty 🙃🙂
