Easy, great tame!

Things to note before taming:

-feeding one causes others to appear

-they have bad health and melee damage, but make up for it in speed

-best fighters against megalodons in packs

Here’s how to tame:

Find ichthyosaurus away from dangerous creatures like mantas and megalodons. You also will want one near the shore. Next, put raw meat (prime or reg.) in slot 0. Swim and approach the ichthy. It will be curious. Quickly feed it meat. Prime meat sometimes tames an ichthy instantly on taming multiplier three. Make sure it was away from Megs! Any megs around will now try to attack you sea creature. If attempting to take one near dangerous creatures, bring an ichthy saddle so you can hop right on and swim to safety. Your new ichthy probably will cause others to appear. If so, you should tame them. You could have a pack of 8 with upgraded melee damage and health, and they could easily beat a megalodon!

For the guy that said "admit it this was your first ocean tame" no it wasn't the megalodon i tamed this evening was my first ocean tame the reason I didn't tame these thing is cuz they are always around sharks and mantas when i go to the herb island i knocked one and kill the rest and there was one and i didn't tame it cuz is a pretty low level

Grappling it and feeding it worked for me

I tamed one but it died to a megaladon 😔

You can passive feed on these things on mobile making it easy to tame basilos mantas and eels

I still can’t tame one cuz the megalodons immediately target me when I get more deep in the ocean

You can not pick up an Ichthyosaurus with a Karkinos, despite that dododex says you can.

Saw that others had luck keeping him around using tames to make him curious, so I tried to tame one of those guys with a pet Spino in tow. Unlike the first time I saw one, it wasn't curious about us AT ALL. It immediately retreated. So, because I'd found it in a river, I tried to corner it.

It committed suicide-by-beach. Literally swam up onto shore and insta-died rather than be near us.

I don't think they like Spinos. Leave yours at home.

If you are haveing trouble finding them go to the red obelisk and in the water beneath there are some and I have even encountered meglodons there.

Swim your ass up to it and than feed it A simple kibble bam you’ve got yourself the fastest aquatic mammal! No trapping necessary!!! 🤟🏻

Easy tame.

Can be found anywhere in the ocean. They are passive tame and when they come up to u feed them any meat. Watch out for hostiles (megs manta jellyfish etc) and now u have one of the best water tames

Get 4 prime fish from a meg or other fish and then you have a easy tame

Use dodo kibble it’s easy to make it all you need is 2 to tame a high level even a level 55 and 80

These guys are good for underwater adventures. They like invisible to underwater dinos even tuso mosa. The letdown about them is they're so fast to get hungry when sprinting. Make sure you got plenty stack of meat in its inventory.

In mobile if you feed one in calls all its teammates.I fed one and within seconds there were almost 10 of them making it hard to find the thing I fed.

Press the up arrow if you can’t be attacked while riding on and icthy

Icthys are drawn to tames, so when I tamed one 4 more showed up. Now I have an icthy army and none can stand against me, although they do about 10 damage.

What I did was I built a circle out of stone dino Gates and I got it to follow me in and then boom. You can stay in the circle and tame it and it wont be able to run. Hope this helps.

1 obtain kibble or fish meat

2 put that in your hot bar

3 go for a swim

4 feed it and wait until its hungry again

5 repeat

6 There u go

It's a fast water mount and on ark mobile it's invisible It's really useful for helping you tame better water creatures

Ichys are the best water tame I was with a itchy callled Henry who is a lev40 I was with him then I saw a spoon so I thought let’s kill it and I did it took like 20 mins and then I thought let’s kill meg so I killed like 50 these are the best water take animals so get them
