Taming & KO Tips
How do I tame a ichthyosaurus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a ichthyosaurus.
Where do you find these because the only place I can is the ocean and its teeming with megladons
Saw that others had luck keeping him around using tames to make him curious, so I tried to tame one of those guys with a pet Spino in tow. Unlike the first time I saw one, it wasn't curious about us AT ALL. It immediately retreated. So, because I'd found it in a river, I tried to corner it.
It committed suicide-by-beach. Literally swam up onto shore and insta-died rather than be near us.
I don't think they like Spinos. Leave yours at home.
When tamed, block and support the Itchy. Or megs and mantas will KO your tame.
Make certain that after you've successfully tamed it you make it stop following you before you run out of the water. Poor, sweet, sad, dead fishy... :(
Go to red ob then there will be a river that will have some
You can not pick up an Ichthyosaurus with a Karkinos, despite that dododex says you can.
It is a great beginner tame On mobile all you need is a raft and you got a scary dolphin
They are too friendly to be remembered as carnivores
If you are haveing trouble finding them go to the red obelisk and in the water beneath there are some and I have even encountered meglodons there.
Ichys are the best water tame I was with a itchy callled Henry who is a lev40 I was with him then I saw a spoon so I thought let’s kill it and I did it took like 20 mins and then I thought let’s kill meg so I killed like 50 these are the best water take animals so get them
To tame a lvl 100 or more you need 80+ fish and a 10x taming boost
Grappling it and feeding it worked for me
How to tame:
1. Prep with raw fish meat, raw meat, or dodo kibble at best (simple kibble on pc)
2. Locate one
3. Put the meat/kibble in your hotbar and give it to the ichthy
4. Follow it and feed it when its hungry until tamed
Hope this helps!
Use dodo kibble it’s easy to make it all you need is 2 to tame a high level even a level 55 and 80
An itchy is easier to tame than most neutral/passive creatures. It naturally approaches to you if you swim close to it, but it will never make a move to attack, allowing safe feeding so long as there are not predators.
They a really good tame if you level up the speed you can do zoomies in the water when without leveling up the speed you just do slower zoomies
Great for fast water travel but attack is terrible and don't count on them to have your back they cut and run and if you survive the attack have fun finding them again.
It's hard to tame these guys they like to hang out with very dangerous creatures and they wander a lot so use it's preferred kibble to tame it. So bring a turtle or a sarco or both to tame it,
I tames Three of these and I like them put a Saddle and like it
SPENT AN HOUR TAMING ONE AND IT JUST DIED
