Like pego's they prefer to steal items in the last slot, so I have with success had a split stack of berries whenever I travel around these thieves; they'll steal 3 berries I care nothing about. Berries are dropped from dinos you kill as well, so I recommend just sticking a few on the bar if you see them around.

They will steal your narcotics and eat the whole stack without passing out.

It randomly aggros on you. If you miss or mess up your bola it will eat all of your consumables. Weapons will be left on the ground pick them up quickly.

So what I do is whenever one of these devils take stuff I pull out torch light them on fire. It usually kills them in one hit.

I made a base with tons of windows and when they come near is shot them finally my egg is safe.
