When I set out to tame one of these, I bring a storage or make one near the location of the bird, I put all my valuables that are on me & my flyer into storage(including the kibble) until it's knocked out. To avoid being robbed & having my things destroyed.

The fish they hunt down are boosted and are better to tame otters and hesperornis etc

The way I tame mine was I had bolas in my hotbar and about 3 bolas just in cause. After I knocked it I put raw/fresh fish meat on it. Then I went out to the ocean and I killed some sharks with my thyla and hachet the sharks to get raw/fresh prime fish meat.( I was on Valguero and I was playing Primivite+.

If you have these by your base then DO NOT try to kill it with a good gun because it’ll just take it and you just lost your weapon.

These guys can also steal eggs, i had a raptor egg and never saw it again... even after killing this douchebag.

As the Pego's smarter partner in crime, the Ichthyornis will only steal food from you, but you will never get it back. But before you genocide all Seagulls from the beaches, they can get prime meat and prime fish meat for you, meaning if you don't want to get killed by salmon or want revenge on the pirahnas, use this guy to bring them back to you and harvest their succulent meat.

honestly pretty fun to use these things as target practice once you get a good crossbow.

Temperment is "skittish". These things have attacked me out of nowhere for no reason and stole plenty of cooked meat and rare flowers/mushrooms already! How is that skittish?

They can be used for getting prime meat fresh when doing a tame. Just knock the dino out then use this guy on a nearby dodo or any other small thing and youll have some fresh prime to give to your soon to be pal.

Don't underestimate the usefulness of these guys. They are annoying at start but once you have one tamed, they are VERY helpful. Getting prime meat from Dodos for bigger tames or "golden" fish for taming an otter. Regular kibble being their preference makes it an easy early-game tame.

In the wild, I can’t think of anything more annoying. Once their tamed they have an ability so that they can kill dodos and you can get prime meat for it.

Will eat fish meat and prim fish meat. Will not eat any type of raw meat

They should add anti air flak cannons or other to the game

It is pretty useful for taming the pelagornis or baryonyx.

They don’t live on scorched earth because it’s a desert, they don’t live in aberration due to its strict rule on flyers, other then that they live on EVERY map

If these litte douchebags take your stuff, don't expect to get it back. Example: Ascendant Pump Action Shotgun with 768 percent damage.

This little thing is the only downside to stack mods

Put something useless in last toolbar slot. I carry a stack of stimulus berry's for torper encounters but I slit my stack in 4s. When this dirty bird comes, I lose 25 or less berries, I quickly make smaller stacks to replenish the last slot. You'll almost encourage thieving dirty birds to attack! Also works with thieving dirty rats the pegomastics.

If you can carry food and narcos in smaller stacks so if they steal one they don't steal everything
