Step 1: tame a mini army (around 10-20 would do).

Step 2: go find someone who is decked out and has good stuff.

Step 3: put them on hunt and retrieve and whistle to attack him.

Step 4: hide in a bush so op man don’t see u and run away once birds done their crime.

Step 5: flex on your friends with your “hard earned” stuff.

Don’t kill them use them to get prime meat by tamping them and putting them on find and retreve the normal meat will turn some of it to prime meat very helpful

This things can kill most small creatures in the water as you may know BUT did you know they can kill Cnidera (Jellyfish) without being harmed? Easy way to get em out of your way or to farm biotoxin early on.

Whistle attack my target on a fish or dodo-sized creature and throw the seagull at it. It will return the corpse to you that you can harvest for prime meat. A must have for early game taming!

New best flyer in the game grapple to it and whistle it to where you want to go!

Guide for killing fish with ichthyornis on UME (or any other platform):

1. Turn on hunt or hunt and retrieve (in creature settings)

2. Carry the ichthyornis on your shoulder (target it and tap)

3. Target a fish (make sure the fish is in the middle of the screen)

4. Release the ichthyornis by holding the right side of your screen

5. The ichthyornis will target and kill the fish, and bring the fish back to you if you selected hunt and retrieve, or drop it if you picked hunt instead.

6. The fish will have a slight golden glow around it, indicating that it has been killed by an ichthyornis, and will drop prime fish meat, and give 5x more taming affinity when fed to a hesperornis.

Using a Bola on one of these dudes is way easier said than done, I found it easier to shoot them with a tranquilizer arrow. I brought down a level 14 in one shot, after wasting 8 Bolas. Despite how annoying they can be. When their tamed they are extremely useful, for getting prime from fish and small animals, along with making taming otters and hespies much easier. If you set them to hunt and retrieve, you can target a fish or small animal and they will kill it and bring it back to you, so you can kill thoes salmon without having to step foot into the water. You can also use them to clear out piranhas. They are incredibly useful to have tamed, but very pesky when wild. One of the worst things to encounter early on is a flock of these guys. I usually see them alone, but I've also sewn them travel in large flocks and they will circle you and relentlessly steal everything edible from you, because unlike pegos that run off, the seagulls don't leave. But sometimes they don't aggro. I spent a whole hour trying to get this one bird to aggro on me, but he simply would not. Apparently whenever you come close to these birds it does a dice roll for if the bird will attack or not, and they always seem to aggro when you don't want then too, but never aggro when you want then to chase you so you can tame them, because 9 times out of 10 their flying above the water, however it's not too uncommon to see them inland if your exploring the southern islets region.

P.s. they will only eat fishy, but like most creatures they gain food from kibble. Not alot of people know this but you can literally just feed creatures kibble unless they have a really strict diet. So if you don't have any fish you can feed them a cheap kibble. If your playing on the switch, the seagull egg is used for bee kibble.

These birds are a must have if you are looking to tame otters and hesperonis!

When set to hunt and retrieve, it will target fish and small dinos and bring their corpses back to you. The corpses will be glowing which can either be harvested for some prime meat or can be fed to wild otter and hesperonis for maximum taming progress.

When set to "Hunt & Retrieve" it will bring you dodos or fish and the dodos will give raw prime or a few of it. And fish will give raw prime fish meat. You'll know cause the corpse will glow yellow as the icthyornis is bringing it to you!

In my opinion this is easily the best shoulder mount. It brings you fish that contain raw prime meat and sending it to attack a Dodo can get you raw prime meat. I have x1.5 harvest rate and got somewhere around 12 raw prime meat from one Dodo. An absolute must have
