Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a hyaenodon? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a hyaenodon.
Just started taming these guys and it can be easily startled to ruin the taming. I noticed that if you use First Person View, it gives you a slightly longer range to pet these guys without disturbing them during taming. Hope this helps😊
Don't Shift + Tab for steam overlay, the sprint key makes you stand up. Also don't change from crouches to prone, any stance change will scare him/her
1 foundation, 3 walls, 2 quarter walls, 1 triangle roof and a ramp.
Grab with argent drop in pen
Add the roof and the ramp to the quarter walls
Will be trapped and unable to move in the corner
Crouch walk up ramp, pet.
Easiest tame.
They have the cutest taming method evr
So I just tamed one and it just walked up on door frame and door lmao
1. Dont Use door frame and door
2. After petting keep your Distance
3. Never make eye contact even if you are wearing ghillie armor. They get scared
4. You got a HardToGetDogo.
If you go a little to the side it can help because he will sometimes stop from all of a sudden and you will bump into him.
Easy nice tame, as long as you can kill around 3 other you could probably get them easy once you have chillie
Here's how to tame a hyaenodon:
1. They are passive tames, which means you don't need to knock them out to tame them.
2. Walk up to one slowly from the back, but don't get too close. And then pet it. Wearing ghillie armor can reduce the chances of the hyaenodon spotting you.
3. Keep petting it until it's tamed.
I hope this helped! Bye!

Phlinger phoo has a very good trap to tame these dudes. Just make the containment chamber a bit bigger.
This is a easier tame then the Dung Beetle and Glowtail, I found a group and tamed one straight away. Dung Beetle and glowtail, too many ravegers and carnos
Found in mountains
Pat to tame
Alr i feel like giving a tip on how to tame
1) make a 2x2 tatch foundation with a 1 wall high a wall and a door.
2) add a roof and another row of walls
3) take ur flyer and go kidnapp one
4) drop the hyaenadon you kidnapped in the trap
5) go under and pet it
6) you got a good boi
Alphas can be tamed if taken away from pack I just did it
If you want to tame one tame the rest because they will attack. And if you want to hunt with a scorpion they will murder it. You will be sad when you best knock out Dino is killed so try to move them with an argy or quetsle first
You have to pet it.......but THEY WILL ATTACK IF THEY SEE YOU!
The thing about these is that they don't attack anything unless an animal has really low HP and isn't surround by predators. Stick around a ton of Ankys or something like Ankys, and you should be fine. They are found in Scorched Earth, even though tons of people say they are not there. I found four in an Oasis.
I've noticed that with enough space in a pen and ghille you can tame one in captivity easily. Don't need a second one nearby. Just run out of render distance and come back to a calm hyena if you spook it.
I hate how they are not on moniel overall- you just need to keep petting them to tame them0-0
Most of the comments say "use a flier to pick up and put in a taming pen" or something like that. But really, dont spend time and materials making a pen for passive tames. All ya gotta do is use a flier to pick up the hyaenodon you want and bring it to a safe place. You CAN tame pack leaders of any type of animal, just not alphas. Pack leaders only need to be taken away from their pack. So, either kill their pack or bring it away from their pack with a flier. You cant lead them away, or the whole pack will come, so yeah use a flier
Once the hyaenodon is in a safe place, preferably without large masses of bushes, because ive brought two hyaenodons there and they walk into the bushes and i cant find them. Then, make sure your mount is fairly far away, and crouch and stay behind the hyena. Pet it and back away whenever you can pet it and make sure it doesnt see you. If it turns sharply, and you cant move behind it fast enough just stop moving and it will ignore you. If it sees you it will run and some of the taming will go down. Super annoying. In valguero, the brown parts of the map are home to saberteeth (sabertooths?), mammoths, and hyenas with sometimes deinonychus and direwolf. Thats where i find my hyenas. Anyways, hyaenodons are super cute, go tame one (by the way, they will attack you if theyre in a pack)
Just found out each du du of there movement is counted as 1 second out of the 30
Also when pet move back and then try to stay away from the face also upped speed is really good for the crouch
I put 23 narc arrows on this bad boy. Didnt work lol. Pet em
