Hyaenodons are passively tamed by isolating one, approaching from behind while wearing camouflage armor, and petting it when prompted, then repeating the process after it calms down. Though non-ridable, they are effective pack hunters for caves and other dangerous areas, benefiting from pack behavior, corpse-based healing, easy breeding, and meatpacks that preserve stored meat. When encountered, keep secure distance and protect nearby tames, as their speed, leaps, and pack attacks make them dangerous; use strong mounts, terrain, or secure positions rather than fleeing.
