What are tips for griffin? Tips and strategies for griffin in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
It's easy to tame a griffin now because of the new genesis nets
Griffin's are insanely good flyers so I would understand why you want one and now your gonna learn how to get one
1.make an area of stone foundations, enough to fit a Griffin
2.get some dinosaur gateways and place them all around the foundations
3.THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT, place another dinosaur gateway inside each of the originals to make a kind of cage
4.leave one gateway alone and place the gate in it
5.lead a Griffin through the gate the run as quickly as you can out of the gaps in the cage
6.pop some tranq dart in his head (leave about 5-7 seconds between each)
7.give it some meat
BOOM you got yourself a Griffin, leave a good rating if this helped
Narcotics and prime meat work best
For low levels, I have four words. Run. For. The. Hills.
Since Gen2 came out you can just net them and put the trap over them while they're in the net. Its SO easy.
Do not keep your tames in a trap with one of these, their torp is so high that by the time you knock it out your tame will die
While riding to glide sprint and dont hold anything (binocs, map, and weapons) or you wont glide
Insane damage potential at higher levels with a practiced rider. The base damage of the griffin's primary attack while gliding is ~180 and it scaled with melee damage %. As an example, a griffin with 46 wild points and 51 user-invested points in damage will have 759.7% damage and will be capable of doing ~1367 points of AOE damage at a fairly quick rate of fire.
Well, mine just glitched in Wyvern so that was really easy :D
LvL 24 got knocked out after shooting it 15 crossbow tranq arrows, and tamed with 6 prime meat.
I've been trying my best to find one of these in fordjur but I still can't I've circled the map hundreds of times I'm still technically a beginner maybe I'm missing something any advice of tips on finding one?
Do not use tranq arrows when knocking this out use 30% darts and arrows if you have to use both but if you only use arrows it's a 95% chance for death not 16.6%
On how to trap: I used an argy to lead it into my trap which is 3 Stone Dino gateways (I know it’s hard to believe it fits but it does). I got it in on first try with a bit of luck
(Long post, lots of good details) Taming Griffin is a pain, but doable. In short: trap, attack, sleep, KO, balm, and feed method, with some useful tactics. I play single-player casual hard for this, and i wanted a breeding pair to tame unicorn.
1) Go to the rocky tower between Maw and Eastern Shore, directly across from waterfall (in mobile La41.2 Lo65.7) Clear off bronto by agro and lead it off the edge. Bronto won't respawn, and no predators can reach this location.
2) Set up classic argy taming pen ( 4 stone gate frames, 3 stone pillars, 1 reinforced gate). To build, stand with your back to Far's Peak, aka Griffins' Peak, and make sure gate opens in.
3) Out of reach of the trap, set up 2 preserving bins, a pestle and mortar, and a sleeping bag. In the direction of Far's Peak, also out of range, put a torch to guide you in if trapping at night.
4) Fly on pteranodon and locate a low level (10 to 30) griffin. Agro and slowly lead it back to trap. Fly in level to ensure griffin goes in, Pteranodon will fly right through, trapping griffin when you close the gate.
5) Now use a rex, allo, argy, or whatever, and fill both preserving bins with Prime meat, I used my giga as i had one. Also put in about 70 biotoxin in one preserving bin.
6) NOTE: If you save/exit at this point, and I recommend you do, remember the food level in griffin will reset, so the next steps will need to be done without any saves.
7) Partially tranq, but do not KO, the griffin. This will start food depletion. Now sleep, and then KO. You want the food down as low as possible for rapid tame.
8) Apply 10x soothing balm, then load up with prime meat. if taming doesn't finish during rapid feeding, then use biotoxin, and feed 4 prime meat at a time, to keep in in preserving bin as long as possible.
9) I was able to tame a level 20 without needing any biotoxin, and a level 50 only needing some at the end.
10) My female ending -ena and male ending -rna were able to mate, so Only Last 2 Letters must match!
-Good Luck
I recommend using at least 20 allosaurus cookies, just to be sure that you will be able to tame the griffin!! And I don't recommend getting away from him during taming, the game has a bug, that when you get away from him, he simply disappears during taming!!
Use no mínimo : 100 dardos ,use carne crua de carneiro para subir a eficácia, ganha mais leveis e domar mais rápido!
When taming Griffins I always use my high level Argy, he has nearly 20k health and I set him to passive and let the Griffin bite him as I shoot it, or I let the Griffin bite me because although they have decent damage, flak armour and 800 health seem enough to survive,
It should take about 46 regular darts to get a level 60 to fleeing amount of torpor including inaccurate shots, after that about 9 more for it to go to sleep, I'd recommend first taming the lowest level you can find and then using it to
tame higher levels later, if you want a high level Griffin without taming worse ones first, a trap would be necessary,
I haven't tested it yet, but building an octagonal amphitheatre/coliseum shaped trap of wood or above to delay it's escape with slightly over hanging walls so it doesn't fly away when it flees would probably do, after it goes to sleep normal meat should tame it after a while, but be prepared to lose a lot of narcoberries/toxin/narcotics
In the desert area they replaced what would of been a wyvern raviene with griffins Lots of griffins lets just say that running from 30 griffins isn't easy
Aconselho a prendê-lo em uma estrurura
Just put down 3 Dino gates. Out side with doors but middle with no door. Open one door and lure the griffin inside then close the door and start hitting it.
It doe. Not take 1 hour to tame a griffin it take like a hole day
