On rag, can be found near beaver dams near the middle of the map next to mountains. Every single griffin I have found there has been glitches and stuck flying in a circle so there will be there unless aggro’d by someone or something. You can use an argy trap to trap it and then knock it. Then get mutton and boom, you have a griffin. One of the easiest mobile tames.

On mobile you cannot tame these unless you are a higher level than 85, i knocked one out and said it didn’t respect me and it wouldn’t let me tame it :(
You do not need a saddle for griffins
You CAN tame them with a crossbow.
Wait 5-7 seconds between shots and there is no way you will kill it. Torpor raises over time, arrows/darts are not instant.
You do not "have to have" tanq darts.
In mobile, if your names last two letter and griffins last two letter is same they respect you and in mobile i knocked out it but he didnt eat the meat you must use allo kibble or griffin kibble.
DO NOT use tranq arrows WITHOUT a trap... I tried that and they ran away across the darn map.
They can fly through open stone dino gates so build a taming pin with that in mind to make it easier to tame otherwise you will be chasing it down alot.
