What is a gigantoraptor used for? gigantoraptor utility tips and strategies in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Despite being a half-measure by itself, the Gigantoraptor is a great monster to complement the tools and dinos you use for taming.
1. It is the only dino that can provide additional levels to wild babies that you tame (after killing the parent). Since it has 2 pouches to carry babies/eggs, you’re basically set to carry 2 wild baby dinos from the get go.
From my experience, the formula for calculating additional gained levels is ((wild baby dino level/2)*(Gigantoraptor manually gained levels/88))*wild baby taming efficiency. A 150lvl wild baby can therefore gain an additional 75lvls upon being tamed by a player on a Gigantoraptor.
2. Its bonding mechanic is great for finding high level dinos (the highest tier being dinos lvl90+). When carrying a high level (~180+lvl) non-adult unbonded dino, it will scan the vicinity for the highest lvl dino to target for the bonding mechanic. I’m unsure if the Gigantoraptor stats affect the range of its scan, but you can simply kill the targeted dino or leave the immediate area to reset the scan again at a better position. Since you need about ~20 targets to bond a high lvl dino, you don’t need to worry about hitting that limit that quickly.
Combine this with a Charge Pet (150lvl dino tracker), a Gene Scanner (tracking feature), and a Tek Bino (stat checker) can make your taming experience way more enjoyable, if not less stressful.
In the submission it protects eggs and babies and gets a buff when near them and it has a yuti type roar. that seems a little unbalanced so it’ll probably change, the dossier should be released next week. they did mention it having sharp claws so maybe it has a roar that gives other creatures bleed damage? (probably not that’s waaaaayy op)

My god they are op...they might even be better then most dinos. When they are high lvl make sure to trap the adult instead of throwing eggs everywhere becouse it's a waste of eggs.the good thing about them is that they can glide and after u saddle up your first one you don't have to distract the gigantoraptor parent cos u can kill em and tame the baby when u use the baby radar
