Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a gigantopithecus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a gigantopithecus.
For starters/ you can’t tame a Bigfoot if you knock it out you have to tap the berries and go close to it keep on reapeing this until it’s tamed up
Can tame them with MEJOBERRIES but be careful of terror birds in redwood
Easy thing you can do is follow from behind and when you feed it run away cause it probably turn around
For mobile players soothing balm works on non violent tamesso you only need a few berrys instead of hundreds
My brother sed you had to stick barrys up there but and it kept attacking him 😆
Crouch behind it without Ghille and use Mejoberries for faster tame.2019 we’ll miss you hello 2020
don’t knock out unless it’s angered and always have 20-50 mejoberries and be quick and quiet to tame it
Put it in a 1 by 1 with door frames best way to tame
Sneak up behind it and feed it berry’s, or regular kibble if you have it, wear a ghillie suit so it won’t see u at all, once it’s tamed it’s very strong and if you level it up good it’s almost unstoppable with its strong punches and as a bonus it can yeet you far distances so you can set up mini games with your friends utilising the gigantopithecus yeet ability
Start taming before u sleep. In the morning it will be hungry and feed faster. Don’t save or it’s hunger resets!
Best way to tame these is to pick up 1 or 2 with the Karkinos
Put in crab claw and stand under it with taming food, no wandering makes it easier. Idk if all of them do it, but after I let it go as a tamed creature, it took off instead of following, so tame inside gates if doing it this way
Pick up in your crabs claw and jump off then start feeding it without worries of it aggroing
For those who play on mobile, if you touch it, it agros on you and you need to get out of render distance to reset the A
agro. HOWEVER it doesn’t seem to agro on my sabertooth even if I run right into it. Worthwhile to take from the back of one to both protect it and stay protected while taming. Or just use traps but I’m lazy haha
- just another ark mobile noob
Things not to do when taming one of these guys:
Don't stand while feeding it.
Make sure you're not taming one with a carno in the area (I lost 2 already from wild carnos interfering)
Don't bring any of your dinos with you for backup. Even if they're on passive all it takes is for one of these guys to walk into your dino and start fighting. You may either lose the tame or lose one of your dinos as these guys are very powerful. My level 245 took out 3 guys and 1 of their Pts and their argy. She ended up dying but she died fighting for me. R.I.P Tootsie. Pump up their health and malee damage!
1-Make a 4x4 Stone or Wood trap
2-Use argh to pick it up and bring it to the trap. (If you don’t have one lead it into the trap with ramps)
3-Wait until it stops chasing you in the trap
4-Start taming (Titanoboa Kibble) (Mejoberries) (Other berries)
5-BOOM! There you have your new ape!
I didn’t tame one of these for the longest time because of how complicated it seemed. One skill that it takes: patience. Kibble in my last slot and patience. Boom. Tamed. E Z P Z now Gramps is chilling in my base and we hang out drink beer and he gives me piggy back rides around.
Just crouch behind it and start shoving berries up its butt
Best start dino Good helth, ok dmg, early berry gatherer, and mainly u dont need tranks or narcotics. but be cautious of surroundings they found in redwoods means worst place on island.
Do this thing eat carrot or what is the most effectiveness crop to tame it (sorry if my grammar was bad)
