All you need to do is make a stone thing to drop this guy in using argentavis then feed it lots of mejoberrys and it will be yours I named mine donkey kong and these guys are super strong

When taming make sure no carnos are around. I've witnessed many of my potential tames walk right into carnos and I've seen them lose the fight.

The his furry stink ape is a must have for caving, exploration, and travel. Hop of this lost father in a bush for fiber and wack em for berries.

I wiped out the entire lava cave in just six minutes. With a few foundations of course for traveling over gaps but they are absolute tanks. You can equip a helmet in the saddle spot (i use the flak helmet) and they look so menacing.

If you want to tame, make this trap out of WOOD. Make a 2x2 foundation with 1 wall high. And around the rim of the walls place ceilings on the OUTSIDE. when you use your argy to lift this guy into the trap it will agro somewhat fast so make it relatively close to it and drop it in but right after you drop it in and land CROUCH as soon as you can and wait till it’s not mad anymore. Once it’s chilled out hop on the ceilings and crouch again. Feed this guy mejoberries for an easy tame and/or use soothing balm for a faster taming process. You could also just follow him around with mejoberries in your hand and shove it up his butt. The trap is easiest way for taming this beast and you can rule ark with this guy.

Crouch and sneak behind them so you don’t DIE

Unlike other passive tames, you cannot knockout-tame it because it doesn’t let you put food in its inventory

If u are a admin on ark mobile get a balm preferably 10x or 15x and titanoboa kibble and feed it with out shrouding u

All I gotta say is early game get yourself some berry’s and tame one they are good for berry meat hide and they can win in a fight overall just a good tame!

A random tip for mobile players:

Due to a nerf in mobile where flyers get a speed debuff from taking damage (which can get painfully annoying especially in single player), I recommend using a quetzal to carry the gigantopithecus to a safe spot (e.g near an area in your base that you feel is safe for your potential ape tame and definitely not anywhere near your tames)

Just use 2 large billboards then boom but it might take a bit of time to get it trapped

If you look under the amount of food it needs, it shows the amount of time for each interval, meaning you can set a clock and know exactly when :)

Get behind it with a flyer close by for emergencies, and continuously shove berries up its butt whenever it crouches down, STAY BEHIND IT THOUGH OR YOU WILL DIE A PAINFUL DEATH BY BIGFOOT

On mobile anyway you can ride an Argi and follow him without needing camo or needing to crouch

Absolutely 0 preparation needed. Just sneak up on it and feed it.

They are often found in places like a mountain or something. Make sure no hostiles are nearby and sneak up to it in a Ghille suit and feed it some kibble! They are like the mesopethicus but instead of running away from you they start attacking you. If they do start attacking you, I suggest it is time to hop on your Ptera or Argy and find another one.

First get mejoberry for donkey kong.secong feed him it.third wait till he is hungry and you caught king kong

Just don’t bump into him and he won’t attack
