Today I was in redwoods terrorbirds were chasing me and I saw this protector the terrobirds attacked him and he yeeted them and obliterated them one by one I was scared of him so ran I now love these guys they are the best I hope to tame if it the same one who saved me I will give him berries and nibbles everyday
How to tame gigantopithigas, 1. Find monkey, 2. Get berries/Titanboa kibble, 3. Feed monkey food, 4. Call it Big Foot .
Tamed my first Giganto by crawling naked with an otter around my neck.
Build a small pen with a foundation a doorway and 2 walls then get him to chase you into the foundation escape through the doorway and place the last wall behind him then add 4 more walls above then a hatch frame at the top then feed him from above
If u want shiela back if she's alive go to your profile in ark click tames and find shiela request shiela and wait done she's back hope she's alive tho
No knock out, you gotta crouch around it, preferably with a ghillie suit, and feed it. It takes berries and the like but since it’s in redwood you can easily find some titanoboa eggs and make kibble for it provided you have the other ingredients but they are fairly easy to gather and cook in a pot. Low levels take just a few kibbles but follow the Gigan to make sure it doesn’t wander into danger and lose taming levels.
Pros:
-gather great amounts of fiber
-can wear a shoulder mount and helmet
-sweeping melee attack, good for close quarters in caves, great against Onycs
-can walk up difficult slopes and steep terrain
-it can throw you in the air really high, get creative
Cons
-relatively slow compared to other animals
-as it will gather fiber, it gets weighted with each stack and can become encumbered quick, unload the fiber into your base before you take it on endeavors. 15,000 fiber is quite heavy lol

Giranoa the Gigantopithecus
Found a lvl 150, then I saw a horde of terror bird and I prayed for my favorite creature to stay alive… HE KILLED THE WHOLE FRICKING HORDE OF TERROR BIRDS AND CAME OUT WITH HALF HIS HEALTH then he killed a lvl 5 rex and that’s when I left.
Feed it a berry. Then wait like 5-7 minutes and then you can spam feed it a few times. Rinse and repeat. This way you don’t need to follow its butt around for an hour
Kill for XP, preferably using a tame, these guys pack a punch
First thing I said when I saw this: Mmmmmm, monke 🙃
Gigantopithecus profile:
How to tame: get behind it and get close to it (I suggest crouching) and then feed it, titanaboa kibble is the best taming food for it, but mejoberrys work great too, don’t touch it or get too close or it will attack you and won’t stop until you are out of sight.
Abilities when tamed: This guy can throw you VERY far away which could be helpful if you need to escape quickly, it has good damage, decent-good health (about 600-700 at low level) it has good speed, decent stamina, it’s weight is kind of low but still pretty good, they swim fast too.
ENCOUNTERING: they won’t attack you unless you touch them or get very very close (right on top of it basically) also these guys can save you, if you are being attacked by something and need help, run up to these guys and try to make your enemy attack it and this thing might save you!
Where to find: they are a uncommon creature in the redwoods, pretty easy to find just careful for thylas and other creatures, they only spawn in redwoods or beaches next to redwoods (very close). Sorry for the long tip, I hope I helped someone out! Have a good day/night!
Are you tired of alphas trolling you with thought tames? Are you tired of people messing you up with Rex's? This is the tame for you! Tame this guy and a microraptor and put the microraptor on his shoulder, then when a player riding a Dino chases you, javelin throw that microraptor at the rider, and beat that troll into submission with your big brollic ape!
Alright, you wanna tame a bigfoot? Ive gotchu, so these guys spawn in the redwoods, of you see one, get some berries, I recommend mejoberries, simply crouch behind it and feed it, be careful of terror birds tho. And the bigfoot is all yours!
Use gille or prepare to get your head ripped off (along with your arms and legs)
