No knock out, you gotta crouch around it, preferably with a ghillie suit, and feed it. It takes berries and the like but since itβs in redwood you can easily find some titanoboa eggs and make kibble for it provided you have the other ingredients but they are fairly easy to gather and cook in a pot. Low levels take just a few kibbles but follow the Gigan to make sure it doesnβt wander into danger and lose taming levels.
Pros:
-gather great amounts of fiber
-can wear a shoulder mount and helmet
-sweeping melee attack, good for close quarters in caves, great against Onycs
-can walk up difficult slopes and steep terrain
-it can throw you in the air really high, get creative
Cons
-relatively slow compared to other animals
-as it will gather fiber, it gets weighted with each stack and can become encumbered quick, unload the fiber into your base before you take it on endeavors. 15,000 fiber is quite heavy lol

1 build a 4 by 4 foundation wood or stone the put the walls.
2 find a gigantopithecus
3 carry it with an argy
4 drop it in the box that you made
5 make 1 roof and place it anywhere outside the box
6 feed it
And thats how you tame a gigantopithecus with ease.
Tamed 2 ( lvl 125 and lvl 90 ) did some upgrading mostly to health and melee. Turned my back to cook some meat. Hear scary music, see lvl 130 Rex's corps just flying over my head.
I coloured mine green, named it shreak thèn dropped him in the swamp
From experience, fly with argie and drop them in a box and then take them. Passive tame btw. Mine kept getting attacked by terror birds and the tame bar would reset.

No gille armor all you need to do is crouch behind it and shove berries up its butt...I'm not kidding

Easy to tame, just sneak and bring one soothing balm and berries but i prefer mejoberries. If your looking for one of these go to the redwood forests and you might find one just search for it, but becareful the terror birds might attack you or purlovias the sneaky rat.
They don't have this listed on here I don't know why, but they collect 2 x more of plant x seeds than than any anamal I have found.
If you want to tame one of these just crouch and shove them berries in its a$s. Yes that's all you need to do. Thats my first post so may i please get some ups ?
