To the people saying that these things should be able to wield swords:

Imagine being on a pvp server, and then someone with a fully imprinted and mutated big monke with 1.5K% melee shows up and pulls out an ascendent sword that does 400 base damage...

Sounds pretty balanced and fun

Situation described above will result in 6000 damage per hit btw, aka enough to kill tamed giga (without saddle) in 3 hits

They don't have this listed on here I don't know why, but they collect 2 x more of plant x seeds than than any anamal I have found.

Make sure to put shoulder animal on passive so if it agro your animal doesn’t restart the taming process by hitting it. I had it at 99% then it agro so I flew out of range and came back and when I went to feed last berry my otter was still pissed off and hit it. 99% to 0 and I’m not lying it was literally 99. FAAAAAHH

Am I the only one who just realized that you can farm meat, hide, organic polymer, keratin, and chitin with the "c" key?

These are super underrated for early-mid game!

- Great plant based harvesting

- can use ziplines

- has an “emergency eject” that throws you far away from danger

- can use all helmets (like flak)

- can fire weapon on it while mounted

Just stay behind it crouching and shove berries up it’s ass

Easy to tame, just sneak and bring one soothing balm and berries but i prefer mejoberries. If your looking for one of these go to the redwood forests and you might find one just search for it, but becareful the terror birds might attack you or purlovias the sneaky rat.

These guys SHOULD work similar to a companion in other games. It should be able to wield a sword along with the ability to wear more than just a helmet. Having a tame that acts as a warrior would be very cool for battle in ARK.

Dating is the best way to tame these. The appropriate dress for the occasion is a full suit of Ghille Armor. Pick your ape date up with a Quetz, drop in a taming pen, and hand-feed Mejo Berries. He/she will love you for it!

You can ride these things shoulders on Mobile. They throw you off too when you want to dismount. It’s like chunking a dodo except you’re the dodo

They will beat you dead.

They don't require a saddle to ride and instead equip a helm where the saddle slot would be. Thus allowing very high armor, much higher than saddles.

Do not knock out. Crouch and feed, continue to do this using mejoberries. Specifically mejoberries and I also got this tip by a dude here. Mine got killed even I didn’t fully tame and fought a alpha

Get two of these, paint them black and use them as bodyguards.

Like Basilos, there is a long time between the first and second passive feeds. Its food has to drop over 1000 before the second feed prompt comes up (Dex timer isn't always reliable).

This guy has a good and fast stamina, high jump and swift mobility, and a good amount of weight. Overall with passive tame he's very good ride i feel
