Why Hello everyone!, looking to tame an R-Giga?, 145 to 135/130 or less? Maybe more?, I’m talkin 150! To 155!, ( 155 if you’re on higher than default levels I suppose!)

Anyway let’s get to the point,

First Disclaimer!!! This isn’t a tip for the suitable and well prepared requirements.

Do you wonder if you’ve got what it takes a tame a Giga with JUST some bows and tranq arrows? And you lack the ability to get good rifles or just don’t want to wait that long?, or is the game not giving you a single good blueprint or whatnot for one?

Welll do you ATLEAST have one or 2 JOURNEYMAN Crossbows? Or one JOURNEYMAN crossbow AND a MASTERCRAFT Crossbow?

( and if you’re like me, also have an ascendant compound bow?)

Because approximately 1x Journeyman crossbow with about 283 durability or more, plus 168% weapon damage

( more especially according to my calculations if you’re taming any higher than 145 that I did with this method but I’m not sure how bunch the torpor differs between lvls on R-Gigas.)

Anyway, combine that with a Mastercraft crossbow with 202 weapon damage (or more) and 141 durability ( i know that’s bad, just what mine is at as an example)

(If you don’t have one another better or similar Journeyman crossbow/s should do the same thing.)

Combine that with an ascendant compound bow ( both of my other bows broke so I had to use this) and 741 tranq arrows with only 7 or less misses will knock out a Lvl 145 R1Giga with 261 tranq arrows left.

( again the compound bow probably isn’t necessary whatsoever as long as you have either multiple journeyman or better crossbows.)

Anyway my attempt of taming a 145 R-Giga on Fjordur was a booming Success!.

Mind you I used a trap, and sat there shooting it in the head with mostly guaranteed success in hitting my shots apart from some misses until I got the right position!.

My new R-Giga (male) is black with green stripes and I shall name him Master Chief, I do hope this was helpful in some way or other!.

If you tried to tame a lv 9999 giga with cooked fish meat and 0.01 taming, you would need 4012100 cooked fish, and it would take 3761343 hours, 51 minutes and 49 seconds, not to mention the UNGODLY amount of narcotics.

How to tame a giganotosaurus:

1. You will need 4 metal gates, and a large bear trap.

2. Place the large bear trap, and then place 3 of the gates surrounding the trap, (in this shape \_/).

3. I recommend using a flyer to lead the giga into the trap.

4. After the giga is stuck in the trap, quickly place the fourth gate, which prevents it from escaping the trap.

5. Knock the giga out by shooting it with a tranquilizing ammo like tranq arrows or certain darts.

6. After you've knocked out the giga, feed it meat or preferred kibbles. I highly recommend feeding it kibble as it's much more effective.

-The giga has something called a "rage bar". It fills up when the giga takes damage. When the rage bar is completely filled, the giga starts to attack everything around it, even the player, their tames, and structures. And it's damage also increases.

I just tamed one and got freakin scared out of my face!!! The good news is she only killed me once . . . Note to self: GIGAS APPARENTLY HAVE A HITBOX THE SPAN OF 200000000 MILES.

Oh my Oh My, I just managed to knock out a Lvl 140 Giga on ASE, with just about 4 Primitive Longneck rifles and about, ahem, NEARLY 600 PLUS of my stock of tranq darts leaving me with just 168 of them left….

This Thing has 93k Torpor, and holy shoot people I do NOT recommend doing this, although it’s possible, doing what I did takes WAYY too long, trust me,

I’ve been sitting here shooting at this Giga for what felt like hours man,

And I thought I overprepared! With 5 extra Longnecks and as said 600 plus Tranqs, about too many to count of narcotics, so safe to say my efforts aren’t for nothing as this Lvl 140 Giga shall be my best friend!,

Now I will try with the remaining tranquility to hopefully, tame something easier……..with my remaining non-broken longnecks..

The giga's torpor will be going down insanely fast, I tried to tame one with a crossbow with 100+ tranq arrows, when I come up to it with a magnifying glass the torpor was 0 .

Some helpful tips

Space ur metal dino gates a tiny bit that a human can walk through the edges

Have at least 2 or 3 bear traps

Keep them there for another giga ecounter

Use a argy for best results mainly due to smithy portability and if u messed up can be fixed

If using primitive gear, carry a second or 4th if u are using tranq darts and not the shocking variant

Before tranqs get ur narcotics/biotoxin and your kibble if you have any

Make sure to clear the area before attempting the giga

TORPOR DRAIN INSANE TF YOU MEAN I SPENT OVER 200 ARROWS AND 260 DARTS AND SPEND CLOSE TO AN HOUR TO KNOCK OUT JUST FOR IT GET BACK UP IN 5 MIN

This is a easy tip about 1-3 people with longneck rifles tranq or shocking tranq and carry about 400 narcotics just in case and DO NOT LEAVE FOR A SECOND OR IT WILL WAKE UP AND KILL YOU ALL also force feed narcotics prime meat

Use atleast 4 metal dinosaur gateways (i would suggest 5-6 just in case) place 3 in a formation where the giga can walk in and you can place the last one behind it while it is stuck in a bear trap that u can place in the middle of it.

These gigachads spawn near the mountains. On Survival Evolved, if you lure them near big stone mountains they get stuck in between large rocks. Use this to your advantage.

I have 8 of these beauties! 6 females and 2 males, about 4 of those I two man tamed with a buddy. The rest all 6 tribe members were there. If you don't feel like gathering the materials for a trap. (We've only trapped one of these out of the 8) Get a quetzal with a platform saddle and have one person fly and the other shooting with tranq arrows or tranq darts constantly because there torpor goes down quick. It's not super hard. We've even tamed one underwater LOL. Good luck! Be warned you can lose your quetzals or any other tamed animals if you aren't careful! We've lost about 5 quetzal's and a rex in the process of just one giga. When you knock it down stay on it. Shoot 100 narcotics in it once it hits the 50-75% mark on its torpor. People who don't watch it's torpor or keep pumping narcotics into it when it starts dropping are the ones that deal with the "the giga will wake up on full torpor" myth. It's unlikely it will if you know what you're doing. Take my advice! Happy taming!

To the guy who lost his job and his girlfriend I feel you but my giga has 1,100 melee it 2 shots some brontosaurus

When i wanted to help my friend taming a giga him : 10 minutes thats too long it was an lvl 159 giga so i did it alone.

(We play on nintendo switch)

And yeah it was a bit boring but i had a nice giga

I used 5 small metal door gate frames

2 large bear traps

A crossbow on 357.2%

231 tranq arrows

So good luck

When wild Gigas are tamed they lose about 80% of their stats.

Just dont try it unless prepared
