What are tips for giganotosaurus? Tips and strategies for giganotosaurus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
If you've never heard about a giga, it's probably best not to go out and tame one
Do damage to the giga before knocking out this will make the gigas health go down and the food to drain then when you knock it out it will already be starved down best for pvp
Tamed a 125 Male last night did the metal gateway trap. He almost killed my Quetz after I got to safety my quetz health was at like 500 health. Brought Giga back to base he takes up most of our base but was worth it.
If you plan on using only fists to KO this dino, you will need a very large tribe.
If you're on a server with no offline damage lure it a inactive tame and build metal gates around it. No need for a bear trap and it wont turn and 1 Bute you if you're slow with building.
Once tamed dont hit it or it will go rouge
(Part one: when your taming something big) Wow! I haven't seen so many dodos I'm my entire life! Not seen any so good looking either. Maybe if I give her... -other man appears- uh..what are you doing? -back to first man- nothing! -to other man- dude, you have to check out this new compound bow! The range on it is crazy! -shoots arrow-
If you have good movement speed even if you aggro the giga you can outrun it. Run towards other dinos and the giga will usually stop and eat the other dinos. Just make sure you don't get stuck on a tree!
The only way to kill it is drown it, killing it with a 100% inprint giga ttht you did, you will have around 42k health on the giga but dont run alway when you fight it is a fight to tte death
honestly not worth taming anymore besides the novelty of having one. they harvest a lot of meat but tamed gigas have HORRIBLE stats so just don’t bother. get a carcha instead for a million reasons. Better damage; better health, better mechanics, cooler appearance, harder, better, faster, stronger.
DISCLAIMER: IF YOU ARE ON ANY OTHER PLATFORM BESIDES OLD MOBILE IGNORE THIS TIP.
On old mobile these things are neutral to all tames, meaning that if you try to lure a giga to a rando's base to be evil and they have all their tames set to passive, then that's not gonna do anything unless you manually aggro the giga then tank each hit with your tame and the dude's tames in the giga's hitbox until something dies.
This also means that you can easily trap a giga by using a medium sized mount, equipping 4 metal dino gates in your hotbar, then go up to the giga and quickly place the gates when it stops moving. There exists a video somewhere on the ark mobile discord of me doing this with a pachy.
This also applies to rexes
However if you try this on any other platform including ark use you and your tame will almost certainly die as unlike old mobile wild gigas WILL always be aggressive to all tames.
DO NOT ENGAGE! IN ANY SITUATION OF IT SEEING YOU, YOU ARE NOT GOING TO SURVIVE THE ENCOUNTER
Easy u can tame it ass soon as u can craft longneck metal dino geate beartrap and tranq dart ( croosbow and tranq aroow is bad but still ok if u want to use them) find one on a flyer trap it knock it and feed it arnd 2000 nacroberry 1000 nacrotic like bring a lot even extra as u cant predict their torpor it losses 5000 torpor in seconds and feed it anything u want to feed and then enjoy ur giga ( kind of useless but 1 is a neccesity for endgame seriously
I think these guys are stronger then carchas only for brute strengh, carchas are good for speed and strengh but giga is way stronger for fights, but harder to tame tho
I have no words basically try and trap it by watching a vid or something
Just grab some carrots and tame a horse easy KO
I spotted two gigas on griffin mountain today. Is it possible or was it a glitch? I am playing ark mobile old version. Also, the narrow rocky path near this mountain serves a great place to set up trap with two behemoth stone gateway.
I don't recommend taming this,Bro it almost killed me wild and then I tamed it was so weak Not enough stamina and you can't level it up doesn't make any difference.but damage is good and movement speed slow
Not worth taming, yeah they’re cool to tame but honestly a waste now that carchar exists. One kentro or player that’s a bit out of reach and it’s all over.
[Essay warning]
A bad giga is just a good Rex, so it’s not worth your time trying to get a bad one, aim the highest you can (and still learn carchars don’t crash out over a little bit of damage).
Now before you clutch your pearls, think about it..
Carchars are significantly cheaper, any two Rexes to get any baby Rexes, cryo them (if not, just be fast abt it), kill the babies with a shotgun, feed just one to the carchar, then kills stuff, and repeat.
Gigas cost significantly more materials, although their traps are fairly cheap (Captain Fatdog traps are best), the amount of tranquilizers you will need to get a giga that isn’t just Rex 2.0 will completely kill your wallet. And now you have a ticking timebomb until a raptor or a random kentro sneaks in and makes it kill your tames.
Although, I think it’s best we keep gigas wild and carchars tamed.
Gigas serve as a genuine big threat, even to more advanced players, with their high attack and health, they can certainly be a challenge to take down. Ark doesn’t have many naturally spawning threats, and simply looking at any tab on this app under the giga— it’s mainly just players saying to “bola ur friend and run.”
Giganatosaurus are not worth taming for their utility, and I’ve even heard that it MIGHT’VE not been intended by the developers to players to actually tame it, and was meant to just be an all around terrifying beast.
(And then extinction puts a billion of them as an untamable variant and other overpowered creatures on the way to a boss fight terminal so like good luck.)
In conclusion, maybe tame them anyways they’re cool to own, just maybe keep them a bit farther away from your other tames.. just in case.
