For people wondering, the Giga no longer rages from fall damage…. It was changed like 3 years ago

If you're low on metals or want a trap that doesn't cost too much then use metal billboards. They work the same as metal gates and basically just cheaper. Be sure to use large bear traps tho.

If you Tame this with basic kibble on official(I think it would take 15+ hours) you are a legit savage and should be recognized asap!

The difference between this and a Deathworm. A Deathworm will F you, a Giga will F you and your mom.

Fix the gigas health when tamed.2 ways to fix it with balancing.

1.The health stays the same when tamed.

2.The health doesnt go down too dramatically and it only loose about 5,000-20,000 health depending on the level.

R.I.P. base and tames.

If it's rage meter goes to high which happens if it takes to much damage in a small time interval it will literally eat you of it's saddle

When taming a Giga it's torpor drops in 2min so wait til it's torpor is at about 4,000 then pump a several hundred Narcotics all at once. 100 Narc = 4,000 torpor. It takes longer for the torpor to rise than it does to drop. Took mine 30min to go from 4,000 torpor back to max.

For the few pvp players that will actually read this, use shadowmanes to defend against gigas, the gigas barely does any damage to them and you can just keep on dismounting them.

Here is a pearl of wisdom that I wish I was given when I tamed a giga:

Don't use three metal dino-gates, use four!

You make a U shape with three and put a large bear trap in the middle.

You then lure the giga onto the bear trap and place the final Dino-gate behind it to trap it.

Everyone says that you can use three metal Dino-gates but you really want to use four when you are being chased by the most terrifying creature on the island.

Advice when raising giga:

37 meat on a giga last around 14 min so this gives a hint on how long you can leave the giga if you need to do some basic stuff at the base. This normal rats no boosted servers.

That's around 2.6 meat per min

You should definitely poke it.

Both Gigas and Carchs can easily be drowned if they encroach too close to your base. Very little stam so oxygen goes quick, doable with PT but personally find it easier using throwaway raft to hold aggro.

I was on my pteranodon which had 300 health and i saw a giga in the distance and i was flying low, i turned around and suddenly with lightspeed the giga comes and gnashes my pteranodon and kills me aswell. Never turn your back to a giga

Here’s what you need. Not too heavy resources needed.

5-6 metal gateways

200+ tranq arrows (Ascendant crossbow)

Babies in cryopod for prime meat

3-4 large bear traps

Lots of Biotoxin

Lure the giga to the trap with a flier and make sure it gets stuck. Then you wanna place the final gateways behind it to trap it. It might seem way too large for the regular Dinogates but it can’t get out. After you knock it out, you can uncryo the babies, unclaim them and have your flier kill it for prime. Should be smooth sailing from there!

I tried trapping mine with less than 5 gates and it decided to drown itself. I recommend kiting the giga away from the water since it’s too stupid to realize it’s gonna drown while it’s asleep. Lesson learnt. At the price of my sanity and time at 4 am. 💀

The numbers they give you are way off. If it says 500 dart's take 1000 or 1500 just to be sure.

Easy to tame if u are not lazy easier than rhyniogantha taming u need to just find 1 and lure it to trap shoot it with 100 tranq dart or lots of tranq arrow feed him and torqidity increading thing v fast wait and u got ur giga taming dificlty is mid u can use 1000 narco berries or 1500 for even safe use bio toxin if u can get get 2 long neck rifle so u have a back up and crossbow and tranq arrow for even more back up
