Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a giant bee? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a giant bee.
I,ve always used a wyv. 3 chomps nest breaks, follow bee to ground staying in render distance. full ghillie, bug repellent, 1 simple kib per. Can come home with 5-10 bees a run. Beware on the center some bee nests are bugged and when you demo them they don't turn back into a bee. Not sure if that's all maps or not.
Ok. I have looked till I'm blue in the face and there aren't any beehives in the trees on crystal isles. The worker bees in the cave don't appear to be tamable either.
Tried taming with bear, bear wasn't immune and got attacked by the bees the Queen spawns. Rip Bear.
Easy rare flowers for honey and/or taming: beaches north of the eastern swamp where the forest, beach, and swamp biomes meet; pick your favorite harvester and you will get hundreds of flowers in minutes. The kapros/sucros rarely wander from the swamp and the swamp bushes are available all the way up to the forest. Most common enemies are just annoying, like dilos or jerk pelicans, with the occasional raptor or carno if you go too far up the beach.
Wear a full ghille suit and use bug repellent be careful when using dinos to destroy the hive as you may accidentally kill the queen
If your going to use a quetz, bring a turtle on it to tank drones while you feed mother bee 100% easy as cake
If you stay crouched the drones won't hit you as much, and prone they hardly hit you at all, so if you are overwhelmed by the drones just go prone. I tamed a bee with drones hovering over me most of the time. This is with full ghillie and repellent by the way.
If you don’t have ghillie or bug repellent, keep your distance from the queen, wait till it turns towards you. Then run as fast as you can towards its head and spam feed. If you miss turn around and get on a mount to kill the bees away from the queen. Repeat…
Set bear on passive, use bug repellent on you and bear, kibble in taming bar. Damage hive one hit at a time and let bees die on bear. Watch for hive colour to darken hinting it is not far from being destroyed. As soon as it’s destroyed move backwards so as not to scare queen. Jump off bear and spam feed as you run after queen. Passive bear avoids it killing the queen if you get stung by worker. If you’re taming in redwoods, use bear to clear undergrowth a good distance around hive. It will make it easy to follow queen. I’ve lost em a few times as they disappear amongst the bushes.
Use raw mutton over rare flower. gives better taming effectivness and quicker to tame.
Break nest with bear and then tame the queen while following with bear
Not all hives contain bees! Check them with a rifle bullet or two before breaking it and wasting your ammo.
If you want many bees,go in redwoods.
I'm not sure if it works every time but I got the queen over open water and it auto tamed, I was prepared with rare flowers but didn't use any at all. Of course my Dimorphadon did the heavy lifting on the drones which allowed me to follow the queen.
After taming cryopod the bee without picking it up. Once you pick it up you won't be able to transfer it as a bee hive. Cryopod the bee to ensure transfer.
Taming with anything other then kibble is just a bad idea
Just tried to tame a bee and there was no prompt to tame i had rare flower and kibble and still no prompt are bees no longer tameable
Love me then u will get the bee
Easiest and earliest way to break the hive is to get a pteranodon with decent stamina. Use the screw attack on the hive and fly away to despawn the bees, doesn't take very many hits
Capped at level 5, make a lot of honey, used around 6 rare flowers, quite an easy tame with ghillie suit and a Rex to kill her drones. Got 6 of them make a lot of honey! I recommend taming with two people.
