What are tips for giant bee? Tips and strategies for giant bee in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Couldn't tame until I used bug repellent
They swarm around a hive that if you break open you'll find the queen that can be tamed
Just use a blood-stalker walk up to the nest and destroy it but be careful and don’t spam take your time because you might kill the queen bee. Then get some extraordinary kibble and it should tame form one.
Use frog/toad to destroy hive then tame queen be careful not to hurt the queen.
You guys! I was Arking when I saw weird crystals (they were orange, a cluster of three or four) it was closest to green obelisk and I went to the crystals to investigate, and I heard buzzing! Then all the sudden I am falling, and OH MY GOSH it was a giant bee hive, with other bee hives in it! I found the exit, and a dire bear. I tamed it, and harvested so much honey. It was awesome guys I’m telling you! Also, thanks Dan for creating Dododex! 🦤🦤🦤🦖🦖🦖🦕🦕🦕
Are they there in mobile?if so where?
The drones die once they go a certain distance from the hive or queen. To safely break the hive without a bear just go slightly out of the range they can travel and shoot with a crossbow.
If Queen Bee seems to be constantly angry. Even though your using a bear, ghillie, and repellent. Try to dismount the bear, have it follow, then work your way up to tame her. She might be angry at the bear, so when you get close to jump off and tame, she re-aggro's.
Run they knock you off your tame if you take honey or destroy the hive or if you see them in the wild they will not hesitate to kill you
You can build a box around some hives so you don't have to chase it.
Break the hive, use big repellent and feed the queen rare flowers. Pick up the queen and she turns into the hive to be placed.
For finding an "active" bee hive it seems to just be a case of chance encountering. Flying up to it you will hear buzzing this will indicate an active hive. From there you just break it to get access to the Queen... I am pretty certain this is the case. Note if you don't hear a distinct buzzing it will be unoccupied.
You can also tame them with meat, I personally did it with prime meat and it works perfectly fine.
In Ragnarok they are commonly found under rock bridges towards the blue obelisk!
Easiest way : go to ab then look for the hives , the hives stack so destroy all hives with a mana or whichever tame you have then the bee will be stuck in the hive , what you can do is is get an angle on the bee and easy tame while its sitting
When taming a giant bee, I have a few tips. The things you'll mainly need are as follows:
- Rare flowers. Lots of them.
Giant bees don't require much of these to tame, but a majority of their use comes from using them as a fuel source for their hives.
- Ghillie Armor
Giant bees have a fairly low aggro range, so you can very easily get away with only using ghillie armor. Bug spray helps, but isn't needed.
First off, don't bother with tree hives, unless you have a pteranodon with high stamina. You'll want to spin attack the hive. If no bees come out, don't bother, there are no giant bees.
Alternatively, and my favorite method, you can tame a dire bear using a cheap two foundation stone trap, and spacing out your tranqs. Ironically enough, honey tames them fastest, which makes them easier imo due to ovis not always being very easy to find.
The dire bear is significant for their immunity to bee stings which they share with their rider. Use your dire bear to attack ground hives. I'd advise you secondary attack the hives first to gather a hefty amount of honey first, then break as normal. No fight needed.
Once the queen bee is free, hop off your mount, equip your ghillie armor if you haven't already, and make sure your rare flowers are in your taming slot. Sneak up to the bee, and spam try to feed it.
And now you have a bee! This method is tried and true, and using this method, I've gathered 3 bees in less than 15 minutes. No joke, it's that effective.
Now that you have a bee, I'd recommend first thinking about what you want to do with them.
Before you pick her up, you should think: do you want to keep her workers? If you pick her up, you'll kill them, and they won't spawn back. If you want to keep them for whatever reason, you should lead her back without storing her. This is slow, and even a little risky, but it lets her workers live.
Otherwise, if you're getting a giant bee for honey taming, I recommend taming several and forming a miniature farm for them. They produce honey very slowly, (20 mins per pot,) but you can easily circumvent this with several hives. Give them all plenty of flowers, and honestly just forget about them for a little while. Kinda like a sap tap. When you come back, you'll have a lot of honey.
Alternatively, you could install a mod like Structures Plus (S+) and use their beehive alternative for more efficient honey production. Enjoy! :)
