Use dire bear as bee's don't damage them and use bear to destroy nest with ease be careful not to kill Queen and i suggest to use rare flowers as easy to find to tame Queen and you have your own bee hive
Honey the bee creates expires quickly. (even in a fridge.)
You can actually (attach) the honey to a fishing rod and remove at anytime. This will prevent the honey from ever expiring! Good way to store it as fishing rods are so cheap to make!
I actually had a hive spawn on green obelisk in the island, so that's always good place to look if you're trying to find one. Can also be found in redwoods, or on surrounding rocks in case you don't wanna get mauled by Thylacoleos.
Sometimes when the hive is destroyed the queen will just fly in place. If you have a quetzal or a Tapejara you can fly up to it and passive tame it right there. I recommend bringing medical brew just so you don't have to worry about the drones. Make sure to feed your tame bug repellant as well.
They spawn on Redwood trees, always lvl 5, break the hive with a flyer, the queen should drop on the ground, bring ghillie + bug repellant, you need 2 ichty kibbles or 5 flowers, the queen seems passive but the bees will attack you. Once tamed you can convert the queen into a hive (structure) it produce 1 honey pot per hour (not sure)
Need honey in Aberration? You might find that taming one of these guys is unnescessary. You can hardly walk ten steps without finding a wild bee hive (not including the bioluminescent areas, of course), and seeing as the hazard suit also protects you from the “BEEEES!” effect, you can freely harvest these hives without fear of stings.
Either use a wyvern to quickly destroy nest or use spyglass and argent to whistle attack while sat out of drone range. Once nest is destroyed make sure your ghillie is on and your bug repellent is active, whistle tame passive then crouch down and stalk your queen while feeding it rare flowers. Crouching works well for staying out of drone attack range, the drones die after so long and that is your window to ram flowers down the queen's throat. Happy hunting.
When on the hunt for taming a queen, note that not all hives will have a queen bee inside. If you attack a hive and workers begin to swarm, you've found the queen. If not, try another hive or kill off the empty ones for more potential tames to spawn.
(WILD HONEY GATHERING MADE EASY)
If you have a hive located directly next to a easily accessible/escapable water source , no piranhas preferably.
Here's how to get honey without taming.
Climb/walk up to hive , grab honey , drop/jump directly into water,
Swim about 2 to 4 Boulder lengths away (Underwater) drones can't attack and will retreat back to hive . Rinse&Repeat
Do this as many times as you need honey !!!
