In order to tame you need to kill wild (or tame Dino’s) AFTER it has attached itself to you (It will fly around in circles above you). The larger the Dino (Rexes, Brontos, Gigas, etc) will give better taming effectiveness

It's going to be a shoulder mount and cannot be ridden sadly but will be a useful shoulder mount that can retrieve some or most of the items you had at the time of death, that can also alert you of potential prey and weakened creatures near you.

Have one on your shoulder. Tame it by killing stuff and letting it eat. When you die they get your inventory and come back to where you spawn to give it back. (Ella)

While the hawk is eating. If you can find the correct angle near the hawk you can use a sanguine potion for added 30% tameing progress. I have not figured the correct distance for this so i ended up jumping around like some mad man doing a dance while mashing that potion near the hawk.

This lovely creature, the Fjordhawk, will take all of what it can carry from your inventory and fly away when you face danger. When you respawn, it will bring your items back to you! Very useful for those who encounter death often.

Useful for getting eggs from a rock drake or any egg

Sometimes they fly off if the bed isn't enclosed a simple 1x1 house does the trick

Weight does NOT matter for fjordhawk, please stop saying it does. It can carry blackboxed ingots with no problem (just make sure you account the amount of bag slots for your gear or you will run the chance of it not being brought back)

Breed up some mutated sheep- then let them sit in cryos for a while. When you chuck em out, level their health. 1-2 of those will 100% tame a max level. Up if helpful

Anyone else find out that when you log off or they leave your shoulder they fly to some random location (like the top of the world or next to funky rock formation) and then just don’t come back? I have two hawks- one’s called chad and he doesn’t do this but the others called PainToTame and always does this… now that I think about it it might be the name… eh, I treat them the same and PainToTame is a higher level, but she lives in a cryo until I need her… then she runs off. WHICH IS WHY SHES KEPT IN A CRYO. Anyone else share my predicament?

Same person who made the Fenrir tip ummm they can be found in the snow portal world which is hard cause no matter what you do put on fur clothes and eat focal chili you put a otter around your neck you freeze from hypothermia and lose health pretty quickly so its a pain to get to and it doesn't spawn often so this thing is a pain fo it being so dang hard to get to but once you get it you think oh it a furry wolf it'll keep me warm NOPE you still freeze from hypothermia

Stock up on shotgun shells and grenades

If you die near a fjordhawk while trying to tame it, it can and will fly off with your bag

Just max the hawks health even if ur black boxed the hawk brings ur whole inventory

You can bring these into a boss fight and if you die it will bring your inventory back to you

These birds offer unlimited weight when transporting materials like metal across the map. You can place a bed near a safe location to harvest metal like the dwarven mine and fast travel there with a cryoppoded metal farmer and go to town on the metal putting it into a storage unit when you become encumbered until you have all the metal you want and then throw it out of the storage and pick up all the metal you want before killing yourself with organic polymer or fast-traveling to your base slot-capped with metal to put in your forge. You can do this to get an abundance of any material.

Kill dinos and other wild creatures around you to tame. The larger the dino the more taming percentage you will receive

It could bring your lost items to you when you died and could bring items from corpses to you

Perfect for search and rescue, also, follow pros that have there inventory full all the time, steal whatever they drop

Breed the Ovis

Equip any melee ( chainsaw or sword would do )

Hold E and slaughter the Ovis in front of the Fjordhawk

Remember to raise max health for the Ovis for better taming effect. You can also use Desmodus’s Elixir to get 30% for free
