Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a ferox? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a ferox.
Best taming method is by getting a snow owl with 6k stamina and after you gave it element freeze it till u have no stamina and it will transform back to normal without big problems. Like so other can see
Have element in your last item slot like when taking a bulbdog. After you feed the Ferox the element I will grow in size and try to kill you. When it turns into my Mom in the morning, all you have to do is survive, then it will be tamed.
A straight up element junkie, which makes it hulk out so be careful. After being tamed it provides heat and can dig up element for you, and in beast form it can be ridden and gains pounce attacks.
Wild Ferox will approach you, with this in mind stand on a foundation with 3 walls to your back and a ceiling 2 high, feed the Ferox element by using it out of your hot bar and escape before it can transform fully, wall it in and wait for it to calm down and afterwards you’ll have your very own Murder Squirrels
Must get 100% addicted to breed trap in room let throw tantrum and then let them get dirty
Feed them elemeth and your good to go
Looking for a cute energetic companion? I think you found your stop! If you read this, know that everything I say, is what I recommend bringing, doing, Etc! You however can go about this however you like! All I can say is good luck. For this tame you Have to have element, if you plan on going for a high level bring at least 100 element, also consider bringing good armor, and medical brews! Be sure to bring a spare set of armor! Why? I’ll explain later in this tip, for now I’ll begin on where to find these creatures: Lost island, in the aberration cave is a spawn point, as far as I know, it has been removed, however there’s still another spawn point that I know of behind the waterfall that leads to the abberation cavern! Next spawn location: Fjordur, 28, 4. I’m pretty sure those are the coordinates, you should find a snowy cave, with a guaranteed spawn of ferox! And finnaly genisis, there spawn points vary all I can say is they spawn there :) Alright now the taming process, it’s a “passive” tame, you put element in your hot bar, then feed it to the ferox’s “addiction” then the ferox will mutate to its larger form, from then will proceed to mug you, until the element wears off, it will shrink and ask for more! However it doesn’t “have” to beat you up, you just have to survive it for a set amount of time 30 seconds or so is how long mine usually lasts. when they transform simply run in circles arround them, because of they’re bad turn rate, they are completely immobilized by doing this! The more you feed the wild ferox element, the higher % addiction it will gain, rinse and repeat until… You got yourself a ferox! What can they do? Great question! I’ll start off with they’re addiction, the higher the addiction percentage is the longer and more powerful the ferox is when it transforms, this is of course the opposite the lower it is, to feed its addiction you feed it element the way you tamed it! (To people who are scared at low addiction, 0% addiction never kills ferox, it just states it’s less powerfull!) but that’s not all it can do, when transformed regardless of your weight it will always be able to carry it, this is regulated by you not being able to acces its inventory! When it’s in its small form, it still has some abilitys! When the ferox is on your shoulder while you are walking around for a set amount of time, it will start sniffing, and start jumping, put the ferox down as it will then dig up element dust and share it with you! It does this very often! Thanks for reading and good luck survivor!
As of patch 306.89 can no longer KO. Is strictly a passive Element tame.
Awesome tip ….. use Net gun the moment it turns ! Will keep in same spot never have to worry about it running
Go anywhere in the north, northwest area and your bound to find them. The area always has a snowstorm, so bring a bloodstalker to locate the ferox. Use HLNA to get element, then use the element near it, and it will transform. Finally, grab onto a tree or cliff side and wait for it to shrink again. Best of tamings!
Just found two in the snow biome around the cords:
Lat: 29.6
Lon: 48.3
They eat berries and veggies after they are tame. Not meat.
For me I encounter a bug where U feed it element and it grows big then after the cool down it flops on the floor and disappears.
You can find these guys at the bottom right of the green biome on gen 2 and use your exo suit helm to find them they should be outlined red then go on the beach (have element on your last slot) and use the element to feed it then fly up when it grows big then wait till it’s small again then feed it over and over again till tamed. bring at least 100 element to tame
When taming i highly suggest that you run in big circles because its just over powered. Or at least for females because the males just wanted to throw me around
Tame these guys in fjordur as you can tame OP levels like 300!!!
WHY ARE THESE IN EARLY GAME TAMES JESUS
YOU CANNOT CRYO A TRANSFORMED ONE, I LEARNED THAT THE VERY VERY VERY HARD WAY. (goodbye feral the ferox. You will be missed)
Can be very easily tamed with a bloodstalker and a relatively safe area. Feed it element, ensnare it with your web but don’t reel it in and feed on it. Then wait for it to revert back to normal, then rinse and repeat. It’s incapable of attacking while webbed by a stalker
Feed female 20 element to 100% addict. Wait till it goes small again and breed with male. There is a 10hr baby timer.
