This creature is very good you dont need a saddle to ride it but its better with saddle so your equus has armor and also has motar and pestle so if you forget your narcotics boom you can make narcotics its win win🙂

How to tame equus:

Method 1: argy trap

Step 1: build a 1x1 box out of any material in a safe location the walls are 1 wall high

Step 2: locate equus

Step 3: pick up equus with argy and bring it to the box

Step 4: feed it (i recommend rockarots)and immediatly interact again to mount it

Step 5: feed it again everytime you are prompted to:

its jumping furiously around? Feed

Step 6: repeat step 5 until its tamed

Method 2: rare flower trap (this works in theory i havent tested it but its probably gonna work)

Step 1: build a medium sized box about 4x4 with walls around (and a doorframe somewhere ) with a ramp up one side

Step 2: locate equus

Step 3: eat rare flower and run up the ramp into the trap and when equus is inside the trap get out through the doorframe

Step 4,5 and 6: same as method 1

Hope this helped if you need more help i can recommend a youtuber called Tecorsuh on youtube he does really great taming tutorials wich are easy to follow and understand also he provides you with information about the taming duration and recommended taming food and some neat tips at the end of every tutorial plus he is still updating old tutorial because of changes with the dino or other.

They can be so skittish and if your a beginner they will nock you out as I found out still trying to tame one till this day

I would tame this but you have to hand feed it it can run fast and has a utility saddle

I found a unicorn once so I picked it up with my argy and took it to my passive tame “trap” and since I’m on mobile I found out I can only use Griffen kibble to tame :/. Wish I could tame it

Tame one of these guys if you ave a lot of time on your hands never had one before but am still trying I keep forgetting to feed it so I get kicked off they run really fast so it hard for me to catch up so please don’t be like me feed it so you don’t get kicked off 😇

Use mejo or carrot, and build a pen

It lies about being a mobile chem bench it makes the same amount as a mortar and pestle so don't be fooled. It's a mobile mortar and pestle

These things are amazing for taming!!!

First they knock things out

Second they gather berries ( for taming and narcotics)

Third they can craft narcotics

And finally they can drag live or unconcous dinos. ; )

The Equus is so majestic, any wild dinosaur crossing your path will become instantly hypnotized as you ride into the sunset like Clint Eastwood. Also, you don't tame the Equus, the Equus tames you if you are worthy enough.

They arent a passive tame. They are whats called an active tame. You have to feed and perform actions such as mounting and feeding whilst mounted.

If you are on Xbox you need to go on the horse and press Y when it’s about to kick you off. It took me forever to fine this out😂

After losing three unicorns to raptors while I was taming or about to tame, I went with the super paranoid/cautious route. Build a basic ramp trap, aggro’ed it using a rare flower, and kited it into the trap. Left the area to give it a chance to calm down. First attempt was a no-go, didn’t even get the feeding prompt. Build another, larger pen (fence foundations, two levels of wood walls just in case) around the first one, broke down the first, and was good to go. Tamed it without the worry of raptor interference or it running somewhere it shouldn’t.

This is supposed to help others on mobile. To feed the horse “equip” the carrot while looking at it. To see that you are looking at it a little blue and black thing will pop up. Then once its fed get close and look at the left upper corner of the screen and ride. Once it starts bucking tap the carrot in the corner of your screen. (A little side note: Keep jumping until it runs out of stamina. It becomes easier to take and more likely to not run into a Rex or something.)

I know this is about the Equus but i tamed my unicorn without mounting it. Not sire hoe different they are but i had ghille suit and crouched the entire time behind it and kept feeding it carrots. Tamed in 4 carrots with a level 35

When tameing a equus unicorn stay on it and watch for the indcater at bottom of screen if in xbox when it goes up hold Y and just continue doing that til fully tamed

Kick does torpor. Good for traveling long distance. Make sure to level health weight and stamina. Have a pack of direwolfs follow u for protection is awesome. Nothing can touch you.

If you want a unicorn instead of shuving a carrot up it's ass put it on it's head

Here's how to tame an equus step 1. Find an eqqus step 2 sneak untill it stops step 3. Feed rockarrots at he right time do not feed early it will lose taming percentage step.4 reapeat that a few times (I recommend 33-48 rockarrots) step 5. Your done! If you want another one repeat the process.

On PS5 you cannot feed the equus when mounted for whatever reason, if you press triangle again you dismount it doesn’t let you feed or if you press L1+left on the d-pad you eat the carrot yourself and you don’t feed the carrot to the equus? I’ve had to go into creative mode and forcetame one to actually have one. Not sure if it’s a bug but just letting it be known.
