Stories Tips

What are some stories about the equus? Memorable equus stories, wild encounters, and fan fiction.
I’m on Ark Survival Evolved Mobile for reference. Putting this under “Story” because it’s a combo of taming and encountering that I’ve experienced, but maybe this will help someone!
These are a long term pain in my butt. I searched for MONTHS before I found one, happening upon it completely unprepared in a place it “wasn’t supposed to be”. Having been entirely unready to tame and also only a level 35 at the time, being the idiot I was, I attempted to tame the darn thing with berries 🤦🏼♀️ DON’T DO THAT. it was miserable. I spent 5 hours trying to tame this thing with berries. Finally, I’d had enough and he was headed straight for a swamp full of titanboas and sarcos so I hopped off, tranqed him, built a heavy duty pen around him, and went off to gather the necessary rockcarrots.
Taming with rockcarrots is the way to go. It took about 15 minutes and the pen ensured he couldn’t really buck me off, nor could we be attacked or eaten by anything, so that was nice.
I have been and still am searching for a female for breeding purposes now.. been another couple months. I’ve found ONE so far aside from the one I’ve got- not even sure if it was female- under the green obelisk on the plains. Sad story, I was so very irritated. Had my Allo set to aggressive so she would help clear out the predators from the area for me- which she does a fabulous job with- however, I was on my Argy and scooped the Equus up with him, intending to carry back to my base for easier taming. Well, somehow I/ my argy dropped the Equus and my Allo killed/ate it as soon as it hit the ground 😭 I haven’t seen another one since. It’s driving me insane!
But typically location wise, they are in the plains near water. 😊
The adventures of Zebra
Chapter 2
Zebra woke up and got on his feet, the other human stroked his mane and said "my name is Robert, and I just saved you from being sold to someone that would treat you harshly" Zebra then heard the flapping of wings and saw a argentavis, Zebra was scared of it, then, Robbert soothed him be saying "Midnight here is going to take you to my base" (5 minutes later) Zebra was in the base, and Midnight when into a gray building, then a what looked like a Equus with antlers came up and said "Hello, my name is Cocoa, I’m a Megaloceros from redwoods." Zebra then saw that all the tames would be his friends, he then felt breath on his neck, he turned around to see a beautiful creature, it then said "My name is Falcon, I’m a Griffin from a mountain that the humans call Griffin Mountain."
Protectors of Pandora
Chapter 26 ~the Queens lies~
Ping and his pengujas (as they were calling themselves) were crouching on the ledge of a cliff overlooking the plateau that led up to the ice wyvern scar. The five were trying to assess how many troops the queen had, or at least they thought they were, really Rob was just sick of their antics and sent them on a fools errand. “It looks like they’ve got six dots over there.. a smudgy over there and a few specs..” Ping said, this may sound like an odd thing to say, it was because he was using his flippers as binoculars and they were quite far away. “You see specks? I don’t see nothin” an older kairuku with a scratchy voice named Wan said. Another kairuku looked at him and lifted his flippers off of his eyes. “Oh that’s betta.” He said. “Hehehe they’ll never see us we are so camoflaged!” trickster said (trickster was accurately named) “I know! They are so dumb!” another kairuku named Lee said. In reality, all eyes were on them the kairukus neglected to realize that black paint doesn’t work very well as camouflage in the middle of the day in the snow.. the creatures on the battlements just watched them curiously, kairukus weren’t a threat so there was no point in attacking. “Hey guys is dat da queen?” Ping pondered, he pointed out at a wyvern that had climbed the battlements, she was looking back and forth between the kairukus and one of the soldiers, she looked worried and she was speaking frantically. “HA! THE QUEEN TREMBLES IN FEAR OF OUR MIGHT” a loud confident kairuku said, his name was Quan. “Why would a queen fear kairukus..?” Ping asked looking at the others. “I dunno maybe it’s the paint.” Lee said.
“Ma’m,” a chalicotherium (hope I spelled that right) guard said. “Yes subject?” The queen asked. “There are intruders, about 20 meters from the battlements.” He said. “Who are they? What are they..” she said sounding slightly worried. “They appear to be kairukus smothered in black dye..” the guard said “are they armed!?” The queen asked with a tinge of terror in her voice. “Uh ma’m.. you do know what a kairuku is right?” The guard asked. “Um of course,” she said composing herself. The two walked to the battlements and got up on them looking over at the kairukus. “Why are they in all black?!” The queen asked scared again. “No idea.. should we seize them?” He asked “no it could be a trap, they could be ninjas!!” The queen said in a shrill voice. “Ma’m I hope I’m not speaking out of line, but kairukus.. ninjas..” the guard said. “SHSHSHHHH they could read lips!” She said covering their conversation with her wing.
“I think she said, “‘hurry I want some chips’” ” Wan said. “What’s a chip?” Ping asked. “No idea.” Wan replied.
“Ok now they can’t listen in..” she said sounding relieved but still worried. “Ma’m I really don’t think it’s a threat but if you think so I could ge-” “SHSSHAHSHASHHHH someone could be listening!” She said, her coo had suddenly changed from a royal albeit scared voice to that of a stereotypical teenaged girl. “Ma’m who could be listening.” He said in a more disrespectful voice. “A n y o n e….” She said. “Ok fine I’ll send some direbears to run em off..” he said with a sigh.
“Hm wonder what they are saying under there..” Lee pondered. “I don’t know, wait.. two of those smudges are coming at us!” Ping said. “They aren’t smudges! They’re bears!!” Trickster yelled. And then he pengujas ran away honking and screaming.

Chapter 4
Steven stuffed a handful of charred dodo in his mouth and watched others socialize. Their hunting party had met up with another to settle and take a break. It was safer if they all stayed together. They had taken down two parasuars and a phiomia in total, and they had rustled up some dodos for a snack before they headed back through the dark forest towards camp.
Leo laid down the spear he had been carrying and sat down next to Steven. "Quite the wallflower, aren't you?" he said with a smile. He bit into a dodo drumstick.
Steven shrugged. "None of these people know me, and I don't know them. I can't blame them for not talking to me. Everyone seems so reserved here."
Leo sighed, "It's a dangerous world out here. You have to be careful who you trust."
Steven nodded slowly. "Well, then thanks for taking me in." After a moment of silence he looked back at Leo. "Why did you take me in?"
Leo laughed and threw a bone to the ground. "Looking a gift horse in the mouth, are we?"
"I'm not trying to be ungrateful, it just doesn't make any sense. You just said you have to be careful who you trust. It makes no sense to take me in," Steven looked adept hunters, fighters, and trackers around them. "I'm practically useless."
Leo wagged a finger, "Practically isn't actually. Don't worry, you've got a skill. We've just got to find it." He sat in a thinking pose for a moment before suddenly perking up with bright eyes. He snapped and pointed at Steven, "I know! Ribbon dancer!"
Steven rolled his eyes, cracking a smile. "But in truth," Leo said, supressing his jokester nature, "You've got a good heart. That's why I took you in."
"How could you have known that?"
Leo was silent for a moment. "You remind me of someone. My son." His bright eyes dimmed.
Steven held in a gasp. Leo didn't seem like the type who would be a father, but he did seem like he would make a good father regardless. "Did he die?" Steven asked as sensitivley as he could.
"No," Leo said with a small smile, "I just lost him, when I came here. I truely hope he never sets foot on this acursed Gray Ark."
"What's his name?"
"Alexander." A sad smile crept across his face. "I called him Lex. I haven't seen him in 16 years. He'll be 27 now, and I don't even know if I'll ever see him again."
Steven was about to offer Leo whatever words of comfort he could think of when a ghostly wail errupted from the forest. Roman stood. "The horseman's call. Time to go," he shouted out to the hunting parties. "Eric's party will go first, then Terresa's, then mine. Go."
Steven turned to Leo, "Why are we splitting up? I thought we wanted numbers."
"Out here we do," Leo whispered back, "Out here we face dangerous creatures, but in there…" he pointed to the dark forest, "More numbers means more sound. Sound is how she hunts."
Steven nodded slowly. He had learned to understand who "she" was.

The adventures of Zebra

"I love being an Equus" thought Zebra as he trotted along, then, suddenly, he heard something running, it was a human, Zebra scoffed, thinking that the human would try to passive tame him, but when the human got closer, Zebra saw he was holding something, and it was a longneck, Zebra ran as fast as he could, knowing that if he was shot he would be knocked out, desperate, he neighed "Help!! A human has a longneck and is trying to tame me!! Heeeeeeeelllllp!!" But it was too late, for everything suddenly went dark, he had been knocked out, and then, BAM, ahhhhhh, thud, the human had been killed, and another came to the body and said "thanks for doing the hard part" and the other human fed Zebra kibble
The tale of the shadow phoenixes
Chapter twenty three.
“So…what will you be giving me in return of my music lessons?” James asked Arianna, a glint of mischief in his eye. Arianna cocked her head at him and pursed her lips as if she was evaluating him. “Maybe…I could teach you….piano lessons?” Arianna asked. James gave an exaggerated sigh. “Fine.”
After what felt like hours and hours and hours and hours of skating with Toe crusher Tabitha, Cole finally got away from her and started home. Leah and Tom were still skating to their hearts desire. Cole was pretty sure that Tabitha had almost broken the ice with her unintentional stomping. Cole began to slowly limp home. He stopped for a second to catch his breath. Right by the musician’s house. Suddenly before he continued walking something caught his eye. The lights in the musician’s house were on and he could hear piano music coming from inside. Cole snuck to the door and peeked in through the crack. James sat at the piano with Arianna leaning over him, seeming to be instructing him. James was trying to play a melody but it wasn’t working out well. “No, no not like that.” Arianna said. “Well then, show me.” James said. He scooted to the edge of the bench so that Arianna could sit beside him. They were sitting very close together, because the bench was so small. Their hands were touching and…Cole turned away. What were they doing? They couldn’t be in love, could they? James and Arianna despised each other so…they couldn’t be in love. She was just teaching James to play the piano, right? These thoughts swam around Cole’s head. He took a breath and set his jaw, James would NOT take Arianna from him.
When they had finished James walked Arianna home. They talked as they walked. “…yeah I love listening to piano music, it’s so pretty and comforting.” Arianna said. James smiled at her. “Yeah…but not as pretty as you’re piano music.” James said. Arianna blushed. She went and stood on the doorstep of their house. “So…another lesson tomorrow?” Arianna asked. “Maybe the next day because tomorrow there is that youth event and your going with Cole right?” James asked. Arianna’s expression turned more serious. “Yeah, I forgot about that.” James grinned and gave her a small short bow. “Don’t worry my good lady. We will have another lesson later.” James said. Arianna giggled then covered her mouth, her cheeks a rosy red. “Goodnight James.” She said softly. Then she closed the door. James struggled to breath for a second, but why? He shook his head to clear his thoughts. They were friends nothing more.

Chapter 2
Steven found himself in a small makeshift camp on the beach, surrounded by serious looking faces. Compared to these people, Zoe and Roman didn't look so bad.
"Look at you," said Quinn with a smile. She was an elderly woman, and surprisingly muscular. Despite her age, she looked like she could take anyone in a fight and would probably win.
"A nice young person. Been a while since we had one of those," she chuckled and looked back at the trio that had brought him here. Leo was the only one who returned the smile.
Roman and Zoe looked like they would still skewer him, no questions asked.
"What's your name, kid?" Quinn asked.
"S-Steven."
"Well S-Steven, welcome to the Survivor's Band. Tell me, what are you good for? Cooking? Cleaning?"
While Steven didn't have much memory, he knew he had no skills in those areas. He didn't know these people. But they were holding weapons and he'd rather be on their side. "I don't know. Whatever you need me to do, I'll figure out how to do it."
Quinn laughed heartily and turned to Roman, "Oh, I like this one." She turned back to Steven. "Well", she said, "we can always use more fighters."
"Actually, I'd rather not fight," Steven stammered. "I'm a pacifist." That much he did remember.
Quinn smile faded for a second, and then return with a hint of smugness. She leaned and closed to Steven. "Let me tell you a story: There was once a guy who found himself in a strange place around strange people. He told them, 'I'm a pacifist!' The next day, he died." She sat back and smiled at her morbid fairytale.
Steven swallowed. "Okay, okay. I'll fight but I'll only kill animals, and only for food."
Quinn leaned forward again. "Let me tell you another story: There was-"
Steven held up his hands. Okay, okay! I get it, but I'll only fight if necessary."
Quinn laughed. "You think I made it here this long by killing recklessly? It'll be necessary."

Ok, here is my story- (Moible), One day on November 18th, 2020, I saw this beautiful, majestic Equus. I had my Argy with me, so I captured it and took it to my base. I used rockacarrots and tamed it in 20 minutes. She was a female and a level 18. I rode her around, then this heckin level 30 Rex comes after it. The Equus was fast, so we escaped. I still have Cookie (My Equus) to this day! Gl taming an Equus.
Now I will swear by a baryonyx being the best multipurpose mount till the day I uninstall but I cannot deny the rush of taming these guys, then proceeding to run around the island, lassoing anything that moves. I have a gorgeous full orange girl I named teela and while I would take my Bary when it comes to dangerous situations, the sight of you riding a horse while running from a rex is straight out of a child's dream.
