Go up to it and feed it troodon kibble then ride it and feed it more when mounted when it goes on two legs feed it more kibble in till tamed. The percent of taming is at the bottom left of the screen

Passive tame; Sneak up on one and have taming food in you bar. It'll take you on a wild ride on it's back, run into all other creatures and aggro them if you're unlucky.

I recommend to tranq them, then build a wall around it. That way, when it wakes up, it can't run around like crazy. You'll need to feed it tame food whenever it asks for it while you're on it's back, or you'll fall off eventually.

So you go to ride it...then slowly feed it troodon kibble as it so gracefully jumps into the mouth of a trex...

Mad to make a catch pen to actually tame, was so annoying too.

if the equus is trapped and won’t stop freaking out even when it can no longer see you just reload and equus will be calm, happened to me was waiting for a good 20 minutes. Don’t make the same mistake folks 💀

Make sure you aren’t around predators and bring the rockacarrot you need at least 20-25 carrots

How to tame an Equus:

1. Rockarrots or preferred kibbles are the best foods you can use to tame an Equus. Other veggies and berries work too but they won't be as effective.

2. Equus are a passive tame. Which means you don't knock them out.

3. Tame them by slowly walking up to them from the back, but don't get too close. Feed it and mount it. The horse will attempt to buck you off, but when it does, you should have the food in your last slot and quickly feed it the food again.

How tame. Put rockarrot in last slot to tame crouch and mount it. When it wants a rockarrot feed it.

Horse taming: in two different methods.

Method 1, the cheap method.

You shall need:

Rockarrots, Ghilli suit, Dangerous mount or weapon, (I used a level 90 therizinosaur and a master-craft sword) A flyer like a PT or argy.

Use your flyer to locate a horse. I found three near rock edge at the bottom of the island map near all those beaver dams. As the Equus lives near the swamp, use your dangerous mount or weapon to kill all the titanoboas, terror birds, raptors, etc. Then crouch up behind the Equus and mount it like you would on a tame! Tame the rockarrot you put in your hotbar, wait till it’s hungry again and repeat!

Method 2 the RG method.

You will need an RG, 2 wood foundations, 10 wood doorframes and 2 walls, rockarrots.

Place the trap in a 1 by 2 box without a roof and put the walls at the front of the trap. When you find your horse carry it with the argy back into the trap. Make sure the horses head is facing the walls. Land your argy a distance away, mount the horse like in method 1, and feed it rockarrots.

Equus uses:

You can ride a horse without a saddle but I recommend you have a saddle because it works as a mobile mortar and pestle. TO MOBILE PLAYERS: don’t use engram points to learn how to make the Equus saddle before you do the tame Equus persute! You get a journeyman saddle as a reward.

They have two attacks, a headbutt that deals more melee, and a back kick that increases the victim’s torpor. The Equus is also very fast, can jump a lot, has brilliant stamina, and a weight reduction for chemicals like narcotics and stimulants.

to tame you need a crop where you can plant and get rockarot seeds and wait you need 50 rockarots and find a equus if you havent tamed one before go to pursuits and do tame equus and there you go!

If your looking to find a epuus the center map has a moon shaped island that has a epuus spawn on it.Valgro in the white cliffs you can find epuus everywhere. please keep in mind that epuus are rare and don't spawn often.

if you tame a maewing (fairly easy) and set it to follow (lowest distance) and then get on the equus you want to tame, it will pretty quickly get stuck in the head of the maewing, giving you a perfectly safe and stationary horse to tame!

the maewing can also draw aggro and fend off any nearby enemies that may spot you

(if you want to get the equus unstuck while you’re still taming it, try jumping a few times)
